No Ohmsium for me. Unfortunately I think it’s .... ugly especially with that red fire button.

It’s not that it’s hideous, or even so expensive. It’s both, plus that goofy red button... but I just can’t deal with the asymmetrical shape. At. All. I can do an off-centered 510 but that’s my OCD limit.

I mean I had my pick of three black female pups from Georgia’s litter, but the other two both had a white facial stripe that veered over their left eye. Georgia’s is straight. Yes that matters.

There's ways the tried and true cure to ramp up on a beefier coil on a mech, hold the button down for a second or so before you draw to warm things up. Just be sure your cotton is wet.
True and good point to mention, and the corollary, let go of the button a second before finishing the draw to help cool it down (so it doesn't sit and sizzle afterwards).

The fire button is super ugly, but I find the body merely funny looking, and it looks like it would be very comfortable to hold. It's moot anyway. As I said, it's the wrong mod for me, which is good, since I could never justifying getting one.

It does look extremely comfortable to hold!

A good starting point would be a coil at 0.4 to 0.45 ohms with a single spaced coil. Ohms law will tell you that a 0.4ohm coil at 4.2v will get you 44 watts, but there will a small amount of voltage drop before it hits your coil (from whatever wires, metal, and connections the current is flowing through), and there be some voltage sag as the current is drawn from the battery, so it may be around 3.9v at best (giving 38 watts) to start with, and then fall from there as battery voltage goes down.

A clapton coil can require a bit more ramp up (and ramp down), and you don't have any power curves to play with to give you an initial boost, so you might want to build a smidgen lower with claptons to get what you are looking for in a vape (but maybe not). Now, voltage sag of the battery is directly related to the current draw, so the lower you build to get higher watts, the more voltage sag you get, reducing your watts and can be like chasing your tail. But your power range is nowhere near extreme, so you should find something that works well pretty easily.

Sorry to be so long winded ... I'll go back to snarky little remarks now :)

I appreciate your help. I’m going to start with a ss single wrap spaced at .4-.5 ohms. Thanks so much!

Yup. I always like to clear the chamber and not leave a still vaping coil in there. It just has you changing the cotton more often from overheating it.

I like its funny looks, except for the fire button, but it's completely unsuitable for the way I vape. Plus there's the small matter of the $350 price tag.

That is my problem with those mods and why I will never buy one. I can't wrap my mind around that price tag when it's a run of the mill chinese mass produced mod, with a mediocre chip, using lower quality wood.

For less than that price you can get a bespoke continuohm with very high quality american stabilized wood, made in the US with aftersale support, and a DNA chip.

There aren't any pictures of them on the site or many online, but here are unfinished frames recently posted:

You guiiiseee.. I may be in trouble, so I need some input.

During the last weeks, I sold a good part of my equipment for a pretty penny to some local folks here, only leaving me with the devices that I really think I need or want; which isn't an awful lot. I even sold my Engine Nano because it bored me.

Now.. while I'm rather glad that I'm successfully fighting my urge to collect vaping-related things, I find myself desperately wanting 2 types of [combined] devices, which I believe could utterly cure me of wanting to buy any other equipment in the near future...

Nr.1 would be this:
TalentVape Ioo7 + Adven OWL
talentvapeioo7.jpg
advkenowl.jpg

The OWL is the only top-airflow tank I know of that was designed for taking TFV8 Baby coils. I so need this.

Nr.2 would be this:
HCigar Warwolf + QP Juggerknot
warwolf.jpg
jugger.jpg

And this to satisfy my self-building urges (apart from my Wraith Squonk mod)

What do you think?

In other news, a very large marmalade Manx cat is crying at my door to come in.

Ginger cats are amazing. We had a very large ginger Tom called Garfield. Like most gingers, he had a temper on him. Provided you treated him with respect he was a big softy. Despite being told not to, our daughter decided to give him a bath. The cat won that argument, my daughter spent 2 days in hospital when her arm swelled to the size of a small marrow where Garfield had bitten it. Since then, all the cats have had to resort to licking themselves clean.

I accidentally (honest) somehow turned my watts to the max on one of my devices one time. It fried the cotton in one puff. I think the 200 watt option is there in case you want to light a charcoal grill or something.

Yep, that is one of the issues I have to learn to cope with if vaping and alcohol are both to remain in my life. I forgot to squonk while I was a bit "uncoordinated" at the time. The foul odor and the flames coming out the top of the atty were a clue I suppose .

And hail Garfield as a hero, no doubt.

I am so grateful they don't make a DNA 75C. I would not be able to restrain myself.

What the hell did they do to the Ohmsmium??? The first one was one of the best looking mods IMO. The V2 just looks hideous to me.

Edit: Holy $#!+ That thing costs $350?

Agree 100% - would happily buy this version 1:

If I had the money, definitely this version 1:

But no way to this version 2
