Yes. You would have to decide to what % you would like best. @FranC @NotSoMini @Sugar_and_Spice any thoughts to what %?

I would say it like this, i used about a 1.6 coil back a few years ago with 18-20% flavoring. I still would, in those tanks. But I use .25 and .5 ohm tanks mostly now, and I go about half as much flavoring. But I agree, you’ll have to find what works for you, in your gear.

Yes. You would have to decide to what % you would like best. @FranC @NotSoMini @Sugar_and_Spice any thoughts to what %?

First, each flavor maker makes their own concentrations of a flavoring. TFA is a overall medium concentration and FW is considered to have some of the weakest concentrations. But that does not mean all of their flavors are weak in taste. Cap is kind of all over the place with weak to strong. It just depends on the flavoring.
Second, only the mixer(you) know how they like their diy to taste. If you like strong flavoring, then that is how you would mix it for you.
Its really hard to tell you what you like-lol as one size does not fit all.

I looked quickly for this recipe and came up short. If you can find others reviews on this mix that may serve you better to make a judgment on what to use.

Since its an already established recipe, I always try to mix the way it was originally written before making adjustments. Sometimes they are really good. But start with a small batch maybe 15ml will give you enough time and liquid vaping it to judge if it needs adjustment.

:)

Thanks. So you have tried this recipe? There is another on DIY or Die that seems a little more complex.
No, a different recipe with VTA lemon meringue. I messed with it and got it to good, but not faaabulous.

@Sugar_and_Spice - Sound advice. Given I am new (very!) to DIY, figured I would follow the recipe as the mixer created it, just making adjustments to the nic content if needed. Make a small amount, then adjust according to my taste. I am prepared (or better put, expecting) for much trial and error.

I have much to learn with what is strong vs weak flavourings which I am sure will come to me in time. But never put any thought into the applied wattage (power) that may have been used when the mixologist created a recipe. Will have to keep that in mind.

To all those who gave an input on this, thanks a bunch! You guy/gals are awesome!!! :thumb:

Interesting….thanks for the tip. So what defines “older”? And how does one adjust? Increase percentage or decrease? Or follow the recipe then go from there? Much to learn.
Decrease generally. Older recipes were made for clearomizers and mtl tanks, so it took a ton of flavor to be able to taste it. I usually aim for @10% or less. If you drip/sub-ohm you could go less. I think I’m probably on the high side. I’ve seen old recipes with 20-30% flavors!

Thanks:) I'll give that a try. What I was trying was pretty close. The spaced coil gave me the hot spot at the end. I overwrapped and let it spin 1 wrap out I still ended up with the wrap on the end looser than the rest. I thought I pulled it tight enough but apparently not. I think it didn't have enough contact with the wick because It glowed out from the center without a wick in it. I tried more cotton but still got a hot spot. I have 50 feet of it so I can practice. I also have .5×.1 i bought for the Hastur. If the rta arrives today I will give that wire a try. Should be easier for learning.
Hmmmm mine isnt quite that springy that it unwinds a wrap.
But truth be told the wire I have is some I threw in a ft order just to try. That being said it may not be ss or the stated size lol.

Mine's from AVS It's quite springy. I fear what would happen if my fingers slipped off the end of the spool

So... I had a little time, thought I’d check some video and learn about the menu. Well I learned nothing, but this is the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time.

“They should make a t shirt, I survived the Lustro!”

I’m dying here!

Jai Haze is hilarious when he gets .......

Edited to add: I think he just suggested keeping the mod shut off at all times...lol

Thanks. I got that far but as per @Letitia post, how do you know if a recipe needs adjusting? Example: The Strawberry Shortcake recipe from NotCharlesManson is from 2015. Is this considered old? And if so, in what direction does the adjustment have to be made. More flavourings or less?
Is it strawberry shortcake bar 19.5%?
If so percentage is a bit high, especially the TFA Strawberry Ripe but not unreasonably so. If you'll be dripping/squonking I'd knock it down 20% overall since you are still used to commercial juice.
If it's too strong after after a couple weeks you can always add vg to dilute.

Yes, It’s the Strawberry Shortcake Bar recipe by NotCharlesManson over at ELR. One of the higher rated recipes. So you are suggesting around 15% flavouring? I’ll give that a shot.

The only thing you might want to do is sub FW yellow cake for JF (jungle flavors) yellow cake. Straight 1:1 sub; FW has sugars if that bothers you.

Thanks. I’m not that bothered with sugars but will keep that in mind.

Finally got to ordering some fancy drip tips from Siam. Only bought extras during the first year of vaping and they all sucked badly, so I stopped buying them. And during the whole DL craze I couldn’t be bothered to dig for smaller bore DTs. I hope these are awesome.

Oh dear god, I just noticed, they sent me the copper, not the bronze!

Oh well actually, I think I like this better, seeing it in person. The finish on the stab is velvety smooth, the nicest of all I’ve had.
Asmodus sure seems make a lot of fulfillment mistakes.
