I want to try that flat wire but it sounded like a pita. I wonder if doing parallel wire coils would have a similar effect of more surface area wire but possibly easier to work with.

I don’t have any flat wire to play with. Yet but I may attempt some parallel when I’m feeling better. Have you tried them yet?

Yes, I'm a convert (once you gather up the spaghetti-like mess and re-spool) :D. I prefer the firmer 25 AWG SS316L Flat Wire (0.68mm x 0.27mm), the 0.5mm x 0.1mm is just too easily distorted when wicking. I might use it for a Clapton experiment though. The only atty I managed to coil it with was my Wasp, anything more complex was too tricky.

The larger surface area is better flavour wise IMO, but doesn't have the slower ramp-up times that I find a parallel build has. I was using 26 gauge round SS316L for my parallel tests, so YMMV.

The flat coils also clean up/burn off a treat. I'm tempted to try some flat Kanthal, but I like TC so I'm on the fence with that. I'll definitely be looking out for some wider SS316L though. And a stock of elastic bands/spool tamers.

Yay we have a house.... Probably, we are applying/contracting right now.

Some of the houses.... You know those reality TV shows where like, "Are you serious, this must be staged?" Well, I no longer think that even slightly. They were TERRIFYING.

Except for one. OMG, I am so glad we saw that one, because it's one thing to BUY a house that needs a complete rehab when you OWN the house?

But living in one? Where you have to deal with a landlord who would SHOW the place like that? NO NO NO NO.

Man, it was pretty scary. Houses in Douglas are OLD. There is no incentive (unless you buy one) to rehab it. The one we like was mildly rehabbed, but I really didn't want to try to get into townhouses that were newer, because of the dog. Holy Goodness

Better upgrade your security system. Maybe lasers.
I’m good. The mods aren’t well hidden, but the kitty treats are! They’ll have to locate those to get past the guard cat ;). She’s 18 pounds of grumpy maine .... when you withhold the nom-noms

I just built some parallel coils on a Blitz Ghoul on the Minikin V2 Kodama with ss316l 30mm 8/7 wraps came out to .55 ohms. Very quick ramp up and great flavor. Very easy to make. I’m glad I tried it. I still plan on ordering some flat wire.

I bought a spool tamer but it tamed it so much I can’t get the wire to pull out lol!!

Edit: Ok so I’m REALLY digging this parallel coil! Instant fire up and awesome flavor. Why didn’t I try this previously!!

    Morning shinies :)

The kitten has teeth - tested them out on my thumb  she's eating a mixture of pet milk and kitten casserole. Spent all night curled up on my shoulder

@Letitia - all I can say is good luck  at least you have George & Gracie to keep the newbies in line ;)

Have an unused spool og tri core wire; can't figure out the tamer and spool looks like the wire will come undone if I take the tamer off. Closet backup now.

What, they always appreciate in value?
Nah, it was about things you buy when they're on sale with a big discount %. I've done this several times now. Bought stuff for 10-20$, played around with it a bit, sold it for ~3 times as much locally later on when their prices were up again to regular level.

aNope that mod is cool I think LOL.

Sort of glad/not glad I got the LV Mirage, we are going to be so poor for a bit. Our security deposit is over 2 K (which I had, saved up, go me) but also I am now thinking No Kid. He's gotten mature but you know how kids freaking are around their parents... I would have to pay him to come, but he'd bring the dog (whom I also love) but like, she'd be a PITA and she sheds about a pound of hair a week.

I am now thinking moving company (for stuff that can't be boxed up and transported easily) and spending my week off Not Moving but becoming The Remediators (me and the husband have done this to six houses, now, and it SUCKS WORSE EVERY TIME because we AGE) and we are a Great Team. In 10 days we could do a LOT that is super cheap like paint, clean, fix etc., and make it look WAY better than it is. (We are sneaky. I once spent like 5 hours "fixing" my mom's super thin silk china pull up blinds that were dying. I told the realtor to stay the hell away from them, because they were pretty much (some of them) held together by Elmer's glue and Tinkerbell's magic) if anyone touched them they'd disintegrate.

If we do it right, with the Elderly Californian influx of late, we could double or maybe more what is left on my mortgage... I just have to convince the husband that paying someone 2K to move our furniture PAYS OFF in the long run.

I would feel bad but they're Californians, and it's really up to THEM to decide how closely they want to inspect stuff, etc.

When I look at it all I hear is Sargent Hartman telling Private Pyle to "wipe that stupid looking grin off your face or..." ;)
