Just a public service announcement:

Lurkers, this can be a fairly quick moving thread and obviously it can get derailed.

You are welcome. You can post what you want, don't want, need, or ask advice. We welcome all. Big collections or small, some or none at all. Red fish, blue fish...ahem.

However, we are odd. Some more than others. So if we miss your post, well post again. Not intentional.

I see you guys lurking. Take your time if needed, just don't ever be afraid or too shy.

(Yes I saw a few and decided to post this. Would be helpful if others would post something similar every few pages.)

Now, g'nite. My eyes hurt.
You can get anything you want...
At Jay Jay's Restaurant.

No more exotic wires for me. Pulled the last twisted 28ga out of one of my Goblins. All out of Claptons, too.

And only two of my active tanks have my DIY juice in them.

I'm back where I started--single, round wire builds and mostly "cheap" commercial juice.

Now Pam i do consider you a friend, but I must warn you I am a Matt Damon fan. What movie did Anna see? The last Damon movie I saw was 'The Martian" which I love.

I like Matt Damon too. Anna saw "Downsizing." Stinker I think on that one. I also loved "The Martian" but thought the book was better. :) I am a selective Stephen King reader. He is a brilliant author. Books like "Pet Cemetery" and "Cujo" he says he wrote in a blackout and I believe him.

I read all of the GOT books and am the point I don't care if Martin ever finishes the books. HBO is wrapping up the story the way he wanted it wrapped up and doing a fine job. The books are, IMO, bloated. I like the more streamlined story in the HBO series. They left out a lot and changed some things - all for the better. It is rare for me to prefer a movie or TV series to the book or books, but in this case, I do.

I'm new to vaping and have a serious case of shinyitis...so far though I have yet to purchase a brand new vape. Only used ones. I've had the Kangertech SubVod, Kangertech Kbox mini, kangertech cupti 2(loved it once I resolved the gurgling issue), Innokin itaste mvp 3.0 and SmokJoy Air 50s(a very tiny mod). Nothing too fancy and I definitely want a new more powerful mod(most powerful I've had is 85 watts upgradable to 100 watts). I am hoping to get one once we get our tax refund but have NO idea what I want...

Sorry, we are enablers in this thread and will probably have you set up with a squonker, a coil building kit, and a full DIY juice set up if you hang out here. :D

I still own my iTaste MVP 3 - amazing since I sold most of what I had and moved on. I liked that mod a lot. Since you are new to vaping, 85 watts is enough. I never vape at 85 watts but I understand that you want something state of the art and shiny and new. We all understand that. Tell us what you have looked at and considered and we will most certainly give you opinions - oh, SO many opinions. ;)

Tell us what you do and don't like about your current gear. Attys and mods.

Kangertech SubVod: This is what started the end of one addiction and the beginning of a new one...
Pros:
*I loved the vapor production for this to be a simple "vape pen" with no wattage or temp control settings.
*Ease of use as well as replacing the coil was nice too for a beginner anyway.
*Even though I used almost constantly the battery would last at least 36hrs before needing to charge.

Cons:
*most flavors were just meh so to speak. Since learning I can adjust wattage and do temp control I have found that a lot of the flavors I didn't like before, I now love!

Kangertech Kbox mini
Pros:
*loved the size
*ability to adjust the wattage in .1 increments making it easy to find a wattage I enjoyed
*battery lasted 24 hours
*more vapor production(means more nicotine is what I understand...please correct me if wrong) allowing me to not be so dependent the way I had been on my subvod.

Cons:
*No temp control
*only 50w

Kangertech Cupti 2:
Pros:
*most people see the weight(1lb)of this mod as a con, however, I liked it. I am clumsy and this mod was durable, very durable. It took a fall from my high top table without a scratch.
*excellent battery life 24-36 hours
*finally something with temp control(up to 600°f), now I could really taste some of the flavors coming through in my ejuices. Something I had never before experienced!
*adjustable wattage up to 100w after software update using a computer(this is also a con to me anyway, I don't have a computer. Just a smartphone)
*ability to change from all in one device to a tank of choice

Cons:
*5ml tank some see this as good, I did not like it. I am picky and like a variety. I change juice 2-3 times per day. I realize I didn't have to fill it all the way up. This is just a personal preference.
*the weight, while I listed it as a pro, it is only a pro for home use. This 1lb device is not easily portable.
*has a serious gurgling/spitback issue. The issue is easily resolved but happens frequently especially when changing the coil or after a refill

Innokin itaste mvp pro 3.0:
Pros:
*Very Durable mod(trust me I've dropped it enough to test it's durability)
*the wattage is not high at 60w but it heats quickly and has decent vapor production
*can be used in both watts and volts (volts caused me to burn a coil because I didn't understand how to use it in volts, my fault for being uneducated on mods though)
*built in battery
*has ability to charge your cell phone(android only)

Cons:
*no temp control
*max 60w

SmokJoy Air 50s:
Pros:
*size is cute(about the size of half a deck of cards)
*decent vapor production
*has temp control up to 600°f

Cons:
*tiny tank(I told y'all I was picky 5ml is too big and 2ml is too small)
*only 50w
*only about an hour to hour and a half before needing to be charged

Sad story:
I was trading around mods and things and was offered a trade for my cupti 2 in exchange for about 300-400ml of top quality organic ejuice. I took the trade and the guy offered to add more ejuice for my kbox as well. He said he would throw in two mods and 3 tanks(this is how I got the itaste) and the other was another kbox but he told me it was a top tank(the tank was different and I was too excited to pay attention to anything else). I tried both mods and they worked(in the parking lot, hindsight is 20/20). I knew nothing about tanks. One was the top tank for kangertech, the other to were ego mega one tanks. The top tank didn't work on the kangertech mod he traded me, he said it was the coil(didn't know at the time that the does not have a built
in sensor, if the coil is bad). Tried my tank from the mod I traded him and the mod worked fine). Got the kanger tank the kanger mod and the itasted with the two ego tanks and went home. Bought a new coil for the kanger tank and new coils for the ego tanks. Finally settle down and check out my new kanger mod...find out my new kanger mod is in fact a kbox now I start to feel stupid. I traded a perfectly good kbox for another kbox with a bad tank. The kanger box toptank even with a new coil does not work on any mod and reads a steady 9.9ohms on any mod it is placed on. The ego tanks are durable and definitely won't break easily but because of the housing on the inside of the tank the coils can't consistently get enough juice go stay wicked causing the coils to burn easily(I've burned 3). I deeply miss my cupti 2 and my kbox mod...I've messaged the guy multiple times and of course I've been ignored each time. Needless to say I've done a lot of research and learned a very valuable lesson.

Sorry for the long winded post.

And I still have no idea what my new mod should be come tax time...all recommendations are welcome!

Yeah, I was done with King for a while after that. Too... dark.

So I picked up Neuromancer again and remembered how much of a sci-fi fan I was.
OH MY GOD.
Thank you! I've been trying to remember the name of that book for almost a year now!!!

So what I'm getting here is you want the mod to be small, relatively powerful (~100W), and have decent battery life... And TC seems to be a focus as well.
A tank that holds ~3mL, great flavor, some clouds but not necessarily a cloud chasing tank...
Am I about right?

If so, I'm going to suggest looking at the VooPoo Newbie.
80W
Single 18650
Excellent temp control on almost every material in existence, except of course, kanthal...
Seems solid. Simple, well built, should do ya fine.
Tanks aren't really my forte anymore, although since you want something for TC that will limit your choices some...

Pretty much! I think I will eventually want a cloud chaser once I gain a better understanding and more lung capacity then what I have now being a smoker for 16 years, I'm only hitting for about 1.8 seconds max(the itaste has a timer on it).

*please ignore previous post - got click happy apparently

I know the Uwell Crown 3 will work with SS setting, I'm sure there are others, but not which ones...
