I got a package today! Not an exciting one, but muchly wanted: bottle of nic for mixing, moar wires (24awg kanthal & SS), a pretty drip tip & a charger bag. Oh, and a wrapper for rewrapping batteries, I have a couple of batteries with nicks in their wrappings that I covered temporarily with electrical tape and set aside as soon as I had replacements. So I pulled one out to rewrap and pretty well botched the job. I mean, it worked, for values of 'worked' that include 'better than electrical tape', but the wrap is wrinkly still and won't come unwrinkly any further.

I tried it in the Legend for fit and realized JUST IN TIME that this was a terrible, terrible idea and managed to pry it back out before all hope vanished. It'll still fit in the Archon, if I'm desperate I guess. Or when more wrappers come in the next package (this is what happens when I realise I only ordered 1 of a thing when I wanted >1 of a thing and there are these other things I was thinking of getting someday and today could be a someday...) I may see if I can do better at the wrapping of batteries.
Liion Wholesale wraps are easy to use, I get the transparent so I can label the batteries .

AND??? Geez, we’re waiting! You left us hanging, there ;)
I'm back...and oh what a night I've had.

I received a Squid Industries Double Barrel v3. I've been interested in these since v2. I don't know about any of you but when I get boxes in the mail I'm just like I was at six during x-mas with any and all packages. I tore and ripped it open, stuff went flying, the dog grabbed the empty box and ran off - I didn't care. Dog was happy and so was I. Dinner for everybody could wait - vape mail gets priority.

It's built like a tank and if I ever drop this on one of my bare feet it will hurt if not break a toe. MTL with this should get me many, many days of run time. Love it. Compact for a two battery mod too. Nice and simple.

Brings me back to dinner. It was too late to make something time consuming so sandwich time. All was well until I dropped the mayo…oh no, big time mayo splatter everywhere. The dog got some good globs on her head, nose + all along the right side of her body. It was hilarious watching her trying to use her tongue to get the mayo from the top of her nose. I'm trying to clean her up and she keeps backing away like "no its all mine". Mayo all over me, the counter, bottom cabinets, the floor, front of the fridge. All I could do was laugh - I mean come on. Got the kitchen cleaned.

Cleaning the dog up wasn't good enough cause the mayo got her coat cruddy so I gave her a bath. My wife was a groomer so at least drying her was quick with her industrial dryer. Only then realized I had crusty dried mayo globs in my hair, so shower time, and well here I am. I am the king of klutz and I am beat! This was one of those things I wish could have been captured on video cause I would have no qualms posting it. It would have given folks the kind of belly laughs that hurt.

I'll post a picture tomorrow of the mod.

That’s a great idea. I could’ve used it yesterday attempt th put a new coil in the Hadaly. I accidentally unscrewed a grub screw  !!!!!!!!! Those things are TINY!!!

In my attempts to place the backup grub screw in it also went missing :w00t: !!

This happened TWO more Times grrrrrrr  !!! I found 3 but never found the 1st one. I hate that mod. The deck is so small and I especially hate those clamp style ones. :-x

So I moved on from the Hadaly to cool down for a bit because I was getting a bit ...... of. And now I can’t even find the deck!!!! I have the cap but no deck oy vay!!

Next up was the Gear- couldn’t unscrew the deck. I tried every freaking thing I could think of. Even my roommate tried without success. Put it the freezer- nothing because it’s plastic not glass, soaked in warm water- nothing doing!!

I’ve tried vinyl gloves, pliers, freezing, soaking, vape wrench grrrrrr....
So if anyone has any ideas please send them my way. If it was glass I’d probably just break it off at this point!!

I have one I’ve been meaning to wrap. I keep putting it off. Kind of makes me nervous.
DeloresRose it's super easy with a hair dryer. Gently remove the old wrap. Slide the new one on. Make it even end-to-end. Use the hair dryer evenly all around the battery. Done.

Mineral oil? Olive oil? Soak overnight in dish soap and water?

Don't lose the little round paper washer thing from the positive end, though. Apparently it keeps the innards of the battery tucked away inside. Or repels battery demons. One of those.

So I hear! This was me using a hair dryer, I mean, the youtube demo I watched the guy was using a blowtorch but I have never been allowed handheld flame since that one time, well nevermindthat. Anyway, I think a blowtorch would probably singe my fingers worse than the hairdryer did.

So, I did use a hairdryer. I just quite honestly didn't do it very well. Or the wrapper is sucky. But I will try again, because I cannot be quenched.

If it's still got wrinkles, just keep heating and rotating it til it shrinky dinks. I use a pair of ceramic head tweezers to hold the battery. My fasttech wraps I had to trim 2mm off one end for my samsung 30q's

Gear RTA? Try using a couple rubber bands on the top and bottom of the tank. That's what a few people posted in a thread on what sounds like your exact problem. The thread is named "I can't open my Gear RTA" - I would post the link but I don't know if that is ok to do or not. Can I post a link to another thread or is that a no-no?

There are other ideas in that thread.

Ordered another geeky sort of shiny - a set of digital calipers ;)

Mainly for measuring RTA screw sizes, so I can get replacements. I know the right size screw for the doggy, but not all my newbies. And I'm so damn good at stripping screws... especially teeny hex screws

Me too. I’ve managed not to need to rewrap a battery in over a year but I have one now to do. I’m actually a bit nervous. What happens if I touch both ends at the same time  ?

The only thing that worked on my recent stuck barrel was putting it on a coilmaster, wrapping a cloth around it and using vise grips on it. It did destroy my coilmaster, pulled the connection out so now I use that adapter to grip anything stuck.

As long as it's not with metal you'll be 1000% fine.

I bought a sheet of them from Amazon knowing me I’ll either lose or tear them.
