I use them all the time for protection....they stop the atty from scratching the mod as you continuously take it on and off over time
Also use them occasionally for the same reason as you did![]()
I don't take atty's off and on continuously, nor do I tighten atty's down tight to mods. Instead I leave a very small gap between them if the 510 is tight enough, or if not add a very small profile o-ring around the atty's 510 that keeps it off the mod. I've also always bought enough gear to dedicate an atty and a mod together as a setup and just leave them together until they need to be pit stopped. Since I also dedicate the DIY I run in each setup the atty's do not need to be pit stopped (rewicked/recoiled/cleaned) very often. A no fuss no muss way that works well for me anyway.
