Neil Stephenson wrote a series of books about a dude who was dying of leprosy in the real world being transported into a world where he could feel somehow he was also important because of his wedding ring.

I think that's right. I should google but that is what is coming up. They were great? The Thomas Chronicles?

Or he did that Standing in Snow book I forget. Gotta google now. Great. LOL.

Anna

You might mean Snow Crash.

is that short for BooYah?
Kinda feel lost around here anymore. Have gone from buying everything in sight to a new pod device here and there. A lot of stuff put away, even more lost when we moved in December. I'm not quite that shiny anymore.

Heey guys....I have a question for all those Provari-mini owners out there. Seems that the mod diameter is 22mm and the 510 fits up to 20mm.

Is there a beauty ring out there that allows you to fit a 22mm atty and if so has anyone tried it and does it look good

Any insight much appreciated

All my ProVape gear was retired early spring 2014, so I can only speak for the up to 2.5 version Provari's. The 2.5 mini was the same diameter as the standard Provari... 23mm. Lots of companies sold 'Pro Rings' for them to adapt 22mm atty's to them, AND some companies made 23mm or smaller atty's with 'Pro Bases' on them or that could be added to them. Top contenders for those accessories were probably Loki Labs in the US; Kir Fanis, By Leo and VapourArt in Europe.

In the US Loki Labs probably held the top spot for Pro Rings, in part because of those they made from Delrin that would not scratch the Provari finish. I bought a bunch of their Pro Rings and several from Euro companies as well... and quite a few Pro Base atty's from Europe.

Picture of some Loki Lab Pro Rings... the black Delrin rings way back then were $25, are highly collectible now.

Old picture of one of my 2.5 mini's with various toppers (L-R)... a By Leo Slim Tank driven by one of their Sophia Flow Control RTA's; Kir Fanis tank w/Pro Base (also driven by a Sopia); By Leo eBaron RDA; Vapour Art SNP w/Pro Base installed driven by a Sopia. Extension base caps, Tatroe bases and extension rings, Hippo's, Pass-Thru's and endless other accessories also abounded for them to keep your bank account low if you were into these mods. By far the best setup of these was the Salt & Pepper tanks from VapourArt with By Leo Sopia RTA's.

HTH @charlie1465

My top three at the time... a limited edition Stealth Mini, a 1 of 1 prototype Military and a 1 of 3 prototype Stealth Standard w/green LED's. The mini was used a few times, the other two were never used.

...
That was Stephen R. Donaldson, The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant ... two trilogies back in the late 70's and early 80's.

My daughter is the resident mac & cheese expert. She gave it a thumbs down.

You lost me :)
I was wondering if you read his books, since you like Neil Gaiman. Neal Stephenson isn't as whimsical, but he's great (though I didn't like Seveneves). The Baroque Cycle is truly wonderful.

I've got to get back to the Ilium/Olympos books someday.

What's wonderful is how enjoyable it can be to return to a book you've read before and still find pleasure and even new ideas you may have missed in previous readings. I just reread a book by Suskind, Perfume. It was as enjoyable as hen I first read it a long time ago.

Then there are writers like Ian McEwan. His earlier work was very different than the later works of his. Then there are writers like Steig Larsson, who created a window into Swedish life and women's issues with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. One of my favorite trilogies.

Of course they had to go screw up the whole thing by trying to make it into a film (although the Swedish produced one that didn't get any real play in the US was a lot closer to the mark).

Besides, lots of folks are willing to sell their junk vaping gear eventually. ;)
I wouldn't just say "junk gear". I'm willing to bet big bucks that a year or two down the road any of us will be able to buy very high end/high quality second hand gear at a pittance. I'm confident many will not prepare for what is coming rendering their gear useless. They will sell. I'm well prepared but I've already figured this out as I am certain others have as well.

Better than most, not as good as others. Setting up a new computer so thought I'd drop by. Seem to still be going strong.

"How you doin?" (best joey impression)
We missed you! Have you caught up on the 43,792 pages since you dropped by last ;)?

thanks for the birthday wishes folks!
I was 10 when Woodstock took place. My brother had the album. I was longing to be a hippie around that time and growing up in So Cal I was able to take myself (via the bus) to the places where the hippies gathered. Hollywood, Venice Beach, etc. That longing ended with the Manson family murders as the news was all about "Hippie Cult Killers" Later, after I learned to drive, I took myself to the scene of the murders. Cielo Drive in the Hollywood Hills. Shocking times.

Hi Chanel,
Would you check your messages, please? I sent one to you earlier today about a mutual friend of ours.

Thanks!

Agree. Whether it’s handbags or anything else.

There are traits I look for in friends, like reading. I just find I run out of things to say to people who don’t read, and they focus - especially women - on gossip which I have zero time for. My sister keeps trying to set me up with this guy she knows. She thinks he’s fabulous. I’ve met him, he’s nice but I’m not interested. So finally I asked her to ask him who he likes to read. What’s on a person’s book shelf usually tells me anything I need to know about them.
I agree. Reading and what you read does say a lot. Also says a lot if a person is capable of being single and being alone. I have friends who are with someone just to not be alone and I more admire someone that waits for either the right person or goes it alone. Politics matters to me. Religion matters a bit, as long as they are a believer, its all good.
I dated a gut once that turned in a perfectly good blazer for a Hyundai. Nothing against Hyundai's in case anyone here has one, but the relationship fizzled after that and I am sure that had something to do with it. My husband (2nd) on the other hand, did not really have fine things, fresh from his first marriage and supporting kids, he could not afford much. But he did not buy shoes at Walmart or Kmart and that mattered to me. His shoes were not brand new and he did not have a lot of them but he knew about finer things versus garbage.
Also must MUST have some degree of knowledge about how to fix things. At least how to use a tool. Also dated a man once that had no tools and did not know how to use them. Nah, no thanks.

I believe that I have finally reached that place in vaping where I have no desire at all for anymore vaping gear. It is ridiculous how much I have bought for vaping
That's exactly where i'm at. I've got 4 big draws filled with stuff. Table top overflowing and two cupboards that houses the stashed stuff. I basically ran out of space to store stuff I don't use anymore. I spent at least $10 000 already..and i'm only vaping for 2 1/2 years now. Its rediculious.
I'm lately trying to shift my focus to finding ADV juices. Never found one since I started....I know, i'm extremely picky and full of shyte.
