Yeah, I did a relatively fast sanding/meshing by hand. I believe I started with 320, then 400, then went through the micro-mesh pads: 1500-12000 (1500 micro-mesh is roughly equivalent to 400 standard sandpaper grit I think, and 4000 micro-mesh is equal to 1500 standard sandpaper). A bit of oil before and/or after sanding (many recommend butchers block oil, but I used coconut oil) will deepen the colors, and then buff in a light rubbing of conservator's wax (or renaissance wax, depending where you are).
@ShowMeTwice

I don't know about the micro mesh in terms of comparison with the normal grit scale but I always assumed it was a direct comparison. Any way I just needed to say that my sandpapers went all the way up to 10 000 grit and I didn't need to use my micro mesh pads. You only start to see and actual shine when you get to around 8000 grit....hope this helps and here is the kit I used....

WoW i've been using sandpaper all my life. I didn't even know there's a 10000 grit available. I still use 2000 daily for removing scratches from car panels. I used to make knives back in the day and never found the need to go beyond 1500 grit. From 1500 to buff ensured that mirror finish on the wood and steel.
Yes a general rule of thumb is to go at least to 1500 grit which is an acceptable level of finish but there's mirror and mirror :D

And to be fair it was such an easy changeover that it hardly took any extra effort to go up higher. Here's the kit I used.

I'm waiting to see what my replacement Luna will look like.I don't even know what color they sent even though I asked for the same purple as the one they're replacing. And I sanded and polished up the autofire one. I guess if I don't like the new wood I could swap internals, but that's a fair amount of work and I'd need refreshing on soldering before doing it. Sanding and polishing would be a lot less hassle.

I received a Bohr pod system to review from Vaporl. It's a beautiful looking pod, very sleek and understated. First impression on vaping it with a "dl" mesh coil it comes with (there's also a 1.2 ohm ceramic mtl coil I will also have to get to) is this thing is very impressive. I didn't have high expectations (it is a pod, and pod from a new manufacturer for me) but color me surprised. If it keeps up first impressions this may turn into an interesting review.
I will look forward to your review Eskie :)

Done enough replying to SMT's posts ;) I agree completely!!!! I'm not going to sand or buff my Luna, I may wax it for protection - but that's it ;)
That sounds so funny :D Don't listen to them @Daniel Forsyth cover your ears  They're just fed up with a lifetime of waxing, buffing and protecting.

And that's just their legs :p:D

I did mine by hand. I wish I had a Dremel to do it instead, but it's still doable, just time consuming. I started out with 220 as well, worked down to 1,000, then switched to the MicroMesh pads to finish. Went down all 9 steps from 1,500 down to 12,000 finish buff. By 6,000 it really began to pop. I was very happy once I buffed it off with the 12,000. It was murder on my hands, so if you do have a frill, go for it that way. I used these off Amazon.

I also used them on my resin Stentorian RAM and I think that came out spectacular. The wax I decided to go with for the Luna was Howard Feed & Wax which is a beeswax and orange oil finish.

They are very pretty left alone. But if you are looking for that 3D pop in colors, it's not a terribly hard way to go if your hands can stand it. I didn't try to take the black off at all. I happen to like it, so I taped everything off with painter's tape. No nicks at all to the finish.

Congrats! What model is that? I’m still planning to get a new suv - hopefully before winter- but I need to go out and drive a few. And stop spending my down payment on vape stuff.
It is a Jeep Renegade. It is not fast. It has automatic 4wd and selectable modes for mud sand and snow and 4WD lock. It rides really nice and gets better mileage than my Rabbit 24/32. I'll miss my little stick shift car but this one way more useful for us. Gonna be great at the mountains

Yes that's correct I used my drill and rotary attachment for all my sanding and then a buffing wheel for the final polish. It's much easier. Let me know and i'll send you the links for the polishing kits i purchased :)
Yes, links please. Thanks Charlie.

What's a ''FLUB'' :D
A silly mistake. Yesterday Ange gave me my first X by accident, or flub. I never received one before and I was honored, and happy to finally have one.
Then she had to go and undo it. :-x Now I am back to zero X 's.

I have no idea what you already have. Do you have the Cthulhu 1928 ? The OG Magma RDA is hefty and a nice dual post with tight draw. My Origen Little keeps puffin' along. Idk how much money you want to spend but the Italian line of MTL RDAs is great and made well. You can still find some clones for them.
The Origen little is an awesome tiny little RDA very flavorful and squonkable.

You’d think I’d know what it was, living by Toledo, home of the Jeep, lol. But I’ve been focusing on Ford and Chevy, cruising their lots on Sundays.

They’re really popular around here lately which has not always been the case. Maybe they’re more in fashion now that bigger vehicles are the rage.

Speaking of, I called my insurance to see what the difference would be, and it’s only about $12 more a month to upgrade from the truck to the Traverse. Not bad. I could probably up the deductible on the Mustang or drop the full coverage and make up the difference.
