Well hail....
First "vaping" death in NC.
Happened in Greensboro and imagine that, there are few details other than vaping related.

That makes 13 deaths now then... it's sad really.

One kid in Kentucky went into the hospital sick, got better with some treatment and was sent home after some days, then idiotically used more of the funky stuff and went back into the hospital in short order with a collapsed lung.

Health officials need to stop saying "vaping" and start being specific with what's causing this. Banning flavors and refusing to tell people what the issue really is, is not in the least bit helpful and is causing these people to continue using the very product that's killing them.

Agree, oh on a side note the NC death was the same area where they seized 5000 thc cartridges recently.
Coincidence?

Good morning shiners! Sad to hear of another death. This needs a full court press by the DEA and local LE with the CDC providing backup in mapping out the illness while pursuing testing. Instead it's being pursued oppositely, and is only adding to this dragging out any chance of ending it and bringing those folks who sell these illegal carts to justice.

All we can do is keep trying to spread the word to the vaping world, and demand that this is investigated.

So, screaming into the void, basically. I’m exhausted and frustrated beyond belief, not just by this but also by everything that’s happening daily in this country, but I’ll keep at it. We are living in the twilight zone but I’m not giving up without a fight.

Help me spend some money.

I want to find a good single cell 21700 or comparable mod.
For quite a while I have used dual 18650 mods, usually 70 to 90 watts, .2 to .28 resistance. I want to go with something smaller that I can run consistently at at least 65 watts and will have decent charge life.
Mod and battery suggestions welcome. Thank you.
You will be hard pressed to find a single cell mod to run at 65W with any kind of battery life. I run dual battery mods with anything past 50W.

Anything better than an LGHG2 is what I'm looking for. I recently bought a few Aegis Solos and love them, though I bought for long term backups. I want something smaller than a dual 18650 mod (or most at least) to carry around.

I have a few builds I run at 45-55W and can get through a 10 ml squonk bottle with a 40T, and for me that's a lot of vaping, as 7-8 ml total for a day is about average, and I never do that on a single flavor. For me the 21700 option works out well for a balance of mod size to runtime. Anything higher and yes, a dual battery (even a triple) is needed so I'm not swapping batteries all the time, but I really never build anything that needs that power. The most I've ever needed was a 100W preheat for 1 second for a TC setup and maintained temp at 40W, which by eScribe's device monitor ended up supplying 30W and less to maintain a stable 430-450F.

Just popping in to say hi. The family is in town for Mom’s service tomorrow. I’m exhausted already. Not up for a five day circus at all. Rudy was having trouble breathing yesterday, so I will have to keep the socializing to a minimum today, because tomorrow is going to be an all day thing. Fortunately all of it will be close to home so I can check on him. I don’t think anyone else is the animal lover I am, and I was getting a bit of static about it, but I said, loud enough for all to hear, I am not going to lose my dog on the day I bury my mother. That’s just too much to bear.

Take care @DeloresRose, and please, take as many moments for yourself (and Rudy) as you need.

Congrats on your first year smoke-free  There is no better feeling, especially when you gain an extra hobby thanks to vaping :thumb:

@charlie1465 - your pumper is stunning, and even better - you don't need to micro mesh off the black paint ;)

I'm thinking of you, Georgia and Rudy. And us animal lovers stick together - which means you have everyone in the Shiny thread behind you
