Actually it all went a bit pear shaped. I'd just got home when the Nice hospital rang and said that my bloods were unexpectedly bad and I needed a transfusion again. Long story short I'm back in but into a really nice private room. At least I'll probably get both the stem cell collection and my anemia sorted at the same time.... Honestly though it was like slapstick... I'd got home and hadn't even packed my bag and the call came in. I then had a whole 20 minutes before the taxi came to pick me up again... :D

As far as as the food goes it's not good as you would expect... For supper I had 2 sausages with dried smash potato mix, a bowl of half water half lentil soup, a roll, cheese and a pot of fromage frais. If anything I think the French food is marginally better than English :D

Hope you're doing ok mate and good to see you popping in :nun:
Jeez Charlie this is ringing so many bells. We went through a lot of those last-minute changes of schedule. They can be exhausting. I’m thinking of you, my friend. It feels like two steps forward and three steps back a lot of the time. But I have faith you are going to succeed in your goal. Huge hugs.

Thanks to chanelvaps I’m meeting a nice lady to borrow a trap to try to get Stevie home wth me. It’s exciting:)
I just hope that moving her from her environment to another is going to be the best thing for her. It will be for you, but its she that really counts hey. I'm sure you thought that through properly though...just saying.

Charlie you have an amazing attitude. Your positive personality shines through your words. You were the first member to welcome me to ecf and made me feel like part of the group from post 1. Wishing you the best always.

Here's the Nova running my Augvape Occula RDA. Does a nice job. For $20.00, it's a great mod.

As someone who has a few $20 mods, and a few a lot more than $20 mods, I say that does not look like a $20 mod. Very sharp.

I pay $35 biweekly to do the mowing during the season. Cheaper than a relationship.

I wish I could find someone to do it. I’ve called everyone. Nobody does residential properties around here. Actually, *you do the lawn, I write a check* sounds like a great relationship to me.

If I were sure she was a wild rabbit, I’d be more concerned about that. She really does look like a domestic though, even if she’s a few generations from being owned by humans. Native rabbits will struggle in captivity, from what I understand. But Stevie seems to have little fear of humans, at least Ricky, and that lack of fear translates to lack of stress, and will work in her favor as a pet, while it makes her far more vulnerable in the wild.

I think the biggest challenge is going to be the change in her diet, because she’s eating mostly grass and weeds now. She’s going to need to adjust to the new food source.

Money for labor, sounds like a good relationship. Some things are worth paying someone else to do. There's no need to be married for that. Not saying your lawncare person is, but if they are a young person, it might also be hard finding work because of their age. Learning the value of working to earn your own money at a young age, in my opinion, is an excellent way to start life.

I'll agree with that. I'm a mechanic and have been since I could pick up a wrench. I take my wife's and my car to the shop to get the oil and filter changed and tires rotated. Quick, easy and inexpensive.

I’ve thought it through a lot. But I think I can give her a good life :) she doesn’t blend in or camouflage like wild rabbits do. She depends on me for food as it is. There’s been too many close calls for her almost being killed for my liking. I have signs up in different spots in the yard saying watch for bunny. Rabbit crossing etc. I’d be heartbroken if she got killed like the bunny that hung around here years ago. I love that little bunny.! Stevie is the best bunny ever!!

Like I said, if she were wild, I’d advise against this. Because wild rabbits are wired to think of anything new as a threat. Fear is what saves them in the wild, but also what makes them too anxious in captivity. The anxiety would kill her.

Domestic animals all work on the rewards system. They’ll do about anything if there’s a payoff. The reward simply must be greater than the task is adverse.

In your case, her reward is going to be easy access to food and shelter, which is a huge return for a change of living arrangements.

You’ll just have to lay off the carrots, because she won’t be able to offset so many goodies on her own - you’ll be in charge of balancing her diet. And it won’t be easy to get enough fiber for her, like she does when she grazes. But with winter coming on, she’d be hard put to find a lot to eat out loose.

Thanks again your awesome. I think I can do it myself if I have a trap. I’ll do it while I’m working and just check on it often.
The regular traps are ok to leave and come back and check but we did not think she would go in one of those. (Unless very hungry and then not so sure) the drop trap is the best bet but you have to be standing by to pull the string when she is under it

Rabbits are in plague proportions in some parts of NZ. Especially down (or is it up:p) where @AngeNZ lives. They plague especially the farmers. In some parts they started introducing a virus to control them. Naturally the bunny breaders and people that have domesticated bunnies are up in arms. They apparent introduced the virus in my area to, but I don't see any difference in their numbers. They are everywhere when I walk the dogs.
