Good morning shiners! I’m not even going to pretend to get caught up, so I hope everyone is doing well, packages are arriving, and nothing new was released in the last 48 hours I would have wanted but is already sold out.
As to packages and coronavirus, it’s highly unlikely it could survive long enough on a package to cause any problems. But I’d avoid sitting next to someone raving about the great time they had in Wuhan last week, and how lucky they feel to have gotten the last plane out before the quarantine was enacted.
Air travel is the bigger issue especially if you’re passing through one that gets international flight from Asia. Of course my daughter has been traveling all week bouncing around Texas and New Orleans. All I could offer her was lots of hand sanitizer and if was willing, which I doubt, a face mask traveling through the airport and plane. She’s back Sunday so I’ll find out if she did that.
Interestingly in NY, where there is a large Chinese population, face masks are essentially sold out. People bought it out for themselves and to send to relatives in China where everywhere there is also sold out.
At least Shenzhen isn’t nearby, but talk about the perfect storm of a new virus that can jump from person to person over Chinese New Year with a lot of the population traveling, although a lot of people seem to have voluntarily cancelled plans out of worry.
