evening all.. been more or else ok with COTN and Wotofo wicks. i'm guessing firebolt would prbbly be similar. only think i should ultimately get to cutting my own from a more direct source. just not sure with..

"more or less ok" might be overstating my current status. still getting a dry vape_ not dry hits per se, just unsaturated... i think it's the coil choking the cotton--thing or i'm not priming/prime-puffing right again. basically whether i get the wick right or not is a matter of chance and, not knowing what it is i am experiencing i don't think i'm learning antyhing. i'll keep hoping for a lightning bolt.. or is the saying light bulb?

btw do leave rta's to saturate a while after wicking?
Either your wick in the coil is too tight or the tails need thinned. If it is just with one atty the it could be air bubbles caught in the juice ports, just tip the until you see a bubble release or blow in the dt to force juice into the wick. If it is a problem across the board it is wicking. Some decks perform a bit better with a smaller diameter coil as well.

Before you close down your RTAs you should fully saturate your wicks. Make sure there's no tangle at the end of the wick when you put into the wicking ports too. Juice needs to be able to follow the fibres up to the coil easily.
If you're getting dry hits you might be stuffing too much cotton into the coil as Letitia said.
Upload a photo or 2 and all will be revealed Virmy

EDIT: Here's a Gear wicking tutorial. You could use a bit less cotton than this if you want a saturated vape. Too little will cause leaking of course.

Remind me to take a pic of my entire deck, tomorrow. Dad built it 18 months ago solo - despite major muscle loss, nerve damage to his arms, and severe back pain from bone cancer.

It was sheer bloody determination, and he got it finished

He let me help with some things. But as soon as he saw my hammering skills, I got fired ;)

I like the Kendo Gold best. Tried many cottons and I agree about the Muji pads - got a big bag but it's only really backup. Yet to try rayon though and I think I know what @TrollDragon would say ;)
I will send you a bunch of rayon with the coils. I have plenty.

My go to reviewer for wicking.

thanks for the vid and everything. i've seen a bunch from better reviewers. i've taken a couple of stupid pics with my very bad selfieside cam. i'll post it when i can. doubt it'll show the problem, as i'm following the tutorals as much as i can. i have thinned and needled and shortened. like i said it works when it works and it doesn't when it doesn't. matter of fact the times it worked perfectly there was more cotton than it's got down to now after all the thinning. i rewicked the gear and trimmed the elevate, prbbyl too much now. and going to leave them overnight_ that's how it worked last time.
either sometimes the laces are too thick, i'm not pulling the cotton thru right, lumping it somehow or my priming/prime-puffing is not doing the trick. the middle, inside the coil isn't saturating right, is the current diagnosis_ don't know the cause though.

i'm gonna vape the biip for a bit and crash

    shinightis!
