You and I have issues then, I rather like coyotes AND venomous snakes... lol

Snakes don't want to hurt anyone they just don't like to be rudely stepped on...

Coyotes? They're just wild puppies.. they avoid people like the plague if they can...

:) I have nothing against any wild animal. But then I'm a bit wild myself so I understand them.. haha

The only animal that has ever caused me to feel a bit of fear was a bear, surprisingly enough, but even they don't want problems, they like being left alone just fine...but I do admit feeling some fear being within a few feet of a couple without a pointy stick.. lol

I do have something against those great big rats called opossum though... disease carrying vermin they are..

there's a wonderful passage by edward abbey about how coyotes are magnificent, american dog obsession is weird and how dogs should ground and fed to coyotes to enhance their songs.. brilliant cultural critique and quite funny

There are some two step venomous snakes around here called Green Mojaves. They are a breed of rattlesnakes that is quite aggressive. In general diamondbacks and sidewinder will escape if they can. Green Mojaves will attack. I lost a great dog because of a Green Mojave. The dog saved my life by giving his. I hate those snakes and I will kill every one I find.
The coyotes around here are scroungy devious animals. They will run in small packs. They bait pets out and attack. They will dig under fences or climb over fences when they can. They are nasty varmints are deserve to die. Just my opinion of course.

I've got no bias against possums or opossims as long as they don't cause me problems. They can wreak some serious havoc in a chicken coup though. Most of the time they'll steal eggs, but sometimes you get one with a mean streak that'll kill the hens and not even eat what they killed. Then again, wild pigs, fox, coyote, they can all be a pain at times too. I'm not out to exterminate them, but if they're a problem they've got to go. Whether that's trap and release or kill depends on the animal and the situation. It can be dangerous trapping a wild animal, and releasing them has to be done outside of a civilized area not on private land or it's just pushing a problem on someone else which isn't right either.
It's mainly the feral v native animal imbalance that boils my blood. Brushtail possums are a feral pest in NZ as per @Boudica 's post. Even though vegetarian (un-like your Opossum) they cause major damage there and need culling.
They are native in Aus and can be a pia (ruin vege gardens, fruit trees, magnolias etc etc) but are a protected species. I have a pair at the moment that run up my fence line and across my roof most nights thumping and shrieking. Probably an ongoing territorial battle. There are pest controllers here that spend their entire working lives removing possums from people's ceiling cavities and re-locating them.
The other common possum here is a more gentle creature - smaller and more well mannered - called a Ringtail (think of Brushtails as the street hoods, Ringtails as the basket weaving, artistic types). Ringtail below.

NO? I was sure you had them by now.
No, I don't. I'm not even going to tell you I'd ever recommend using him. Remember he blamed quarantine and said I should have paid for faster shipping.

    Piss poor...

We are fine, off work - with pay - thankfully.
Wife quit her job as a front desk clerk at a hotel, so she could be away from potential sick people.

They are all over Burbank much to the residents dismay. They keep hooting and hollering for the city to get rid of them but the city will not. Protected species and all. Burbank is right at the foothills of Griffith Park so I am not sure why citizens do not know they will be coming down. Pictures of them lately in peeps front yard and walking down the bike trails. Brazen animals and yes crafty. They have learned to survive for centuries by being tricky

As far as I know coyotes are not a protected species. I could be wrong. Rattlesnakes are definitely not protected.

And they do actually weave beautiful nests out of vines / folliage. If a Ringtail is caught out in the open in daylight they will feeze in place and not move a muscle til night fall. I once saw one balance on a single 3cm diameter grape vine branch all day.
