    Morning shinies ;)

Played with the Tripod rta this morning. First attempt was great, but wasn't bowling me over. Then I remembered SMT's brilliant post and raised my coil up a bit, and the difference was amazing  What flavour it brings out in cream mixes is just fantastic

I'm running it wide open with no mtl insert and no chimney/chamber reducer. The draw is still on the restricted side, more restricted than the Gear rta wide open. It's definitely in your ballpark Ms @Katya :D

    goodbye

Being married to a Chinese lady, we have an Asian motif going on in the family room and somewhat in the sun room. Púsà is the center of it all, and who us English speaking folks know as Buddha. According to Sue(my wife), Púsà brings peace and protection to our family and home. If you notice, she sits on the Lotus.

I need your help @Pigs. I saw something in one of the pictures that was very concerning to me, and I believe happens to be of special interest to you. I need your input please. 6th thumbnail from the left, trying to hide behind the calendar.

Shiny arrival, the Meze 99 Classics have landed! I'm just a half hour in and listening to Paul Simon's Graceland 25th Anniversary Edition at the moment, colour me very impressed. It is an exceptionally well mastered album though.

I'll have to compare them against the Ultrasone HFI-780 and Fostex T50RPs later.

    goodbye
Some Lotus pics I took, and a huge statue of Púsà in Sanya at a huge Buddhist temple complex, in the Province of Hainan China. It's an island in the south of China. We have a house in Sanya. I love going on vacations there. Maybe not so much anymore though. :( Threw in a bonus pic of a cool critter in the backyard. And also one of my son 15 years ago:thumb:

It is an exceptionally well mastered album though.

Cmon guys credit where it's due! Roy Halee did the recording and mixing. The mix is where the musical balance, soundscape, stereo field is created. One song might take days to mix and a well mixed album will sound almost unchanged after mastering. Mastering is the final process that might take half an hour per song. Greg Calbi is a safe pair of hands but can't take credit for how good Gracelands sounds.

And their ain't nothing wrong with a Zenith. They are awesome

They are great. Possibly the best MTL setup with drop-in coils out there. I like everything about the Zlide/Zenith line--tha tanks look good and they come in 24mm diameter, refilling is easy, no leaks, the DTs are nice; the coils (I prefer .8 to 1.6Ω range) are reliable and perfect for not too tight, smooth vape. And for those who don't want to or can't build their own coils, they are a godsend. They just work.

If Ares 2 is anything like the Zenith, I'll be happy. :)

Has air flow inserts, but no adjustable outside airflow

That's interesting. Just like the Dvarws. I wonder why they are abandoning outside AFC. I still believe that the diameter (size, shape) of the airflow hole under the coil is the most important, but I really like the combination of both--under the coil and the outside air intakes.
