In my state, marijuana dispensaries have been deemed as "essential business" and even got stimulus support money--yes, flavored THC oils, brownies, chips, gummy bears--all essential
I think both dispensaries and vape shops should be considered essential honestly.

Good on ya. I recently (last month) became a citizen, finally I decided to apply. Once it changed from sending paper by mail to online that was me, it took me less than hour to do it all
You encouraged me to go online and start the process....

Just curious, how long does a wick generally last in an rta?

as long as I don't look at it, I rewick when the flavour drops off, or it tastes burnt.

It will take a while to get used to it, but I just used to check mine daily when I was a new builder. If it looked crap, then I rewicked.

How long that lasts really depends on how, many other setups you are using, and what juice. Roughly I get 4 days out of a wick when I'm using a couple of setups.

I've been using the Ares 2 as my only device since Sunday and haven't changed wicks. I wanted to see how far it would go before tasting off. But so far so good. I haven't opened it up to look at the cotton or anything. Just going by taste.

My advice, is to keep going by taste only. I'm OCD and check wicks often, which means I also often rewick when they were still vaping just fine

It will eventually taste slightly muted in flavour - that's your clue then to rewick :thumb:

I've been playing musical RTAs and musical mods today. Until my Dvarw DL FL arrives, this is my favourite RTA for the Mixx:
    Jug.jpg

My tallest RTA the Juggerknot Mini, 24mm at the base. But it is fatter at the top logo'd ring. No problems pulling that ring up to fill the atty. And no bottom air inlets for my finger to block

Nice, it looks like the Mixx is everyone's new favorite shiny thing right now!

I kinda figured that was probably when you knew it was time. I just was curious how long wicks last for people. I'm sure it varies depending what you are vaping.

I bet you 10 bucks if you ask this in the main forum - you will get at least one person saying "my wicks last a year, because I vape unflavoured and only use rayon" ;)

Well, I do have some rayon I will be trying out soon, just to compare. But I doubt I will ever vape unflavored. That just doesn't appeal to me. Although it would make DIY pretty easy.

The DNA board version is tops and a good price too. It's such a well designed mod too.

You can get one at Cheeky Vapes in London. They'll ship to anywhere :)

I think both dispensaries and vape shops should be considered essential honestly.

Oh, every business is essential, IMHO.

I was just musing over those capricious reversals of fortunes in my state. No longer than two years ago, both possession and distribution of marijuana were crimes and people were being sent to jail en masse for engaging in either, while mango eliquids were perfectly fine and didn't bother anybody. Today, marijuana dispensaries are being propped up financially by a broke state government, while selling mango ejuice became a crime.

As long as you let it. Depends on your juice and a bit on the wicking material; rayon users claim that their wicks last longer than cotton. If you vape dark, sweet juices or NETs, you'll have to change your wick more frequently because of the gunk that accumulates in them (and on your coil.) If your juices are cleaner or if you vape unflavored , the wicks stay clean longer.

I rewick (and gently dry burn my coils) when they begin to look dirty, then recoil and rewick. Wire is cheap, wicks are cheap, and I like a fresh, clean coil.

With a bit of practice, you'll know when it's time.

It's just so bizarre isn't it. Well we have to play with the hand that we've been dealt.

I hope it never happens in Europe.....

It does, indeed. :D Give unflavored a try. You may be surprised. To me it tastes like an ultralight cigarette. ;) Unflavored with just a few drops of flavoring (or commercial eliquid) is my favorite vape.
