@AngeNZ, sorry ... I forgot to add, look up surgical scissors. They're very sharp and cut with precision. The wife got the ones I use from a veterinarian some many years ago. ;)

Amazon probably carries them. Or a veterinarian supplier. Maybe even livestock suppliers.
I need to get me a decent pair of scissors too. The ones that came with my little tool kit are pretty bad.

So glad it’s not hitting you
You have NO idea how grateful we feel. Friday is the 15th anniversary of Katrina. We evacuated actually 15 years ago today. It was the week of Christmas before we got to come back to the house to live. Today, there are parts of the area that are still rebuilding, and even some that just will never come back. Hurricanes are viscous and frightening in their destruction.

Or suture kits. I have a pair just like those. They’re really handy. They used to sell them online at Carolina Biologicals, or Fisher Scientific.

thank you. I'll find some, since my nano hedge trimmer google search wasn't getting me any decent results

What Mel said ^^^^^^ . :D

Mine are dissecting scissors, straight pointed. I cannot read the brand, it is in Nano lettering. A sharp quality pair is what you want. I looked on Amazon and people seem to complain a lot about the blades being dull. So, I would look elsewhere.

I found some surgical fine pointed ones at an online fly-fishing site

    Good morning shinies

I got my og Dvarw yesterday along with the 6mm tank and some spare post screws. So with 4sxk versions the day before that's 5 DL FL's to build. It's my favourite atty so I'm really pleased.

My Fentimans sparkling elderflower was delayed so that's coming today so I'll have a lovely iced drink to wash down my vape :D

I usually use a 2.5 id coil but I may use a 3mm today and see how she vapes. It's the wicking that worries me a bit as there will be extra cotton. I may have to thin out the tails which could be difficult using the Exocet method. I'll let you know how it goes :)

    While the Kat is away....

    I'm baaack. :D
I'm interested in what coil ID and wicking fellow Dvarwées are using.

And that would be me! Finally. :D

First impressions. I need a better magnifying glass with a stronger light. They make those building decks smaller and smaller. ;)

So, I managed to take it all apart, give it a bath, and ended up with most of the parts and inserts still present, which is my first victory. Lubed the o-rings and noticed that the threads are shallower than on other atties. I don't know how I feel about it, but I'll get used to it. Everything fits and screws into place. I used the 2mm insert (I think ).

2.5mm ID, 28g, ~1Ω, kanthal round, contact coil, cotton--because that's what I know and can do in my sleep. And since I had a new atty with all kinds of strange parts (never forget) and arrows, I had to concentrate on the atty. I threw a quick bunny ear wick on it because that's what Mark (Todd) was doing and I was following his steps. No trimming--just made sure that the juice channels were covered.

Put the thing on my unloved black Pico and it looks very sharp. Vapes well. Nice and loose MTL draw. I'm going to experiment further with different inserts and wicks, but so far so good.

Thanks for recommending it to me. I think it's a keeper.

Glad you're out of harm's way, Mel. 15-ft storm surge and 128 mph wind gusts? How can anyone or anything survive that?

The aftermath is all that’s on the local news this morning. I’m surprised and thankful that things don’t look worse in Lake Charles. Certainly plenty of damage, but I haven’t seen any flattened/washed away buildings and no standing water. They’re dispatching the search and rescue boats, so must be flooding I haven’t seen yet. Funny thing is, here at our camp (3 1/2 hours away from the point of landfall) there’s still 2-3 feet of water. Of course, we’re on the marsh attached to the Gulf. Nature’s power is an awesome force.
