Glad to hear that you are safe Mel. These natural events are awe inspiring but nevertheless terrible if you are on the wrong end of the stick.The aftermath is all that’s on the local news this morning. I’m surprised and thankful that things don’t look worse in Lake Charles. Certainly plenty of damage, but I haven’t seen any flattened/washed away buildings and no standing water. They’re dispatching the search and rescue boats, so must be flooding I haven’t seen yet. Funny thing is, here at our camp (3 1/2 hours away from the point of landfall) there’s still 2-3 feet of water. Of course, we’re on the marsh attached to the Gulf. Nature’s power is an awesome force.
