Yes ! The Snowy Highway splits off west souwest from the Monaro Highway at Cooma. My photos were taken on the McLaughlin river where it crosses the Monaro hwy. Google maps is a bit out of kilter there but you're in the right area.OH WOW, Stunning @Pigs , just stunning. So this area is the Monaro Plains, on the Snowy Mountains highway yes?
She's a big beautiful country you have there. I LOVE tramping, hiking etc. Just to really get out there away from everything.
At the end of it you feel like you have had an "emotional massage" Like a computer that's been defragmented![]()
It was my first exploratory visit to that country and I tried to go in without preconceptions. It's 2 1/2 days later and I'm still processing the feel of the place. Sounds like you understand what I'm trying to say.
One of the best things about that walk was that I only found 2 pieces of plastic all day - 1 x coke bottle and half a plastic bag. Current visitors show respect for the place.
It's old old country and doesn't give up it's secrets too easily. You have to tread lightly and keep your eyes open and your ears peeled. I feel privileged to have had a glimpse.
