I'm using it in one of my Dvarws. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with changing the ohms. I never noticed that with my other Dvarws.
Then I have nothing.
My reasoning was based on my first atty I had. Kylin v1. Some days it read different and some me days it didn't read the coil at all and I had to clean it and reinstall the coils to get the correct resistance.

But should the Kanthal coil be showing a .3 to .4 ohm difference in what is listed too?

I had bought coils also that had big difference in ohms and wasnt even stainless Soo yeah i guess they just say B's on their packaging it wasnt any known brand tho...I thought was my mod or screws and tried alot....
When I bought known brand tho (vandy vape superfine mtl 30x2/38)it was correct labeled...ofc with small difference cause of the legs but not like 0.2ohms difference and stuff like that...
So you are not alone in this :p

Ok what I do (I buy the roll) cut and wrap the coil. Cut to length and install. Add a little heat wait till it cools off and insert a screwdriver and pull the coil to tighten the wraps. The I remove and trim the coil legs again, reinstall wick and vape. the coils resistance still bounce while heating but, eventually it settles.

Thanks, I'll give that a try next time.

Hi @Pigs ...hope all the folks in USA had a good Thanksgiving and hope you ALL have letterboxes stuffed with lovely shiny things.

Back home, in iso at RNZN Whangaparaoa, not far from where I live, be out of here on the 8th Dec. Beautiful day here, this is a great place to be isolated, it's on a beach, lots of hill's etc I'm allowed out on a clearly defined area so can't complain about that. So many covid tests, all necessary tho for now. I hear it's possible a commercial flight from Wellington (NZ) to Canberra (AUSTRALIA) could be up and running before Xmas. Sure hope so. This would be with no 2wk quarantine either country, bring it on.

OZ was a blur really, will make this as brief as I can but had to give (OLD) evidence re a person I failed for selection many years ago. He tried to attack me the following evening with a weapon (not a firearm) outside a shopping centre. I saw him coming and "got" him first. I was fine. That's all I will say. Anyway all is clean and fine for me. He has been in and out of civil jails since then but
has had another incident with military. Great bloke NOT!
I did get my GlassHouse candles @chanelvaps, didn't buy the Jo Malone ones but I do like her fragrances and bought a Pear&Freesia and a Grapefruit, divine.

OMG I see Daniel has a few ! new shiny things:w00t::lol::shock:,
Hey there @Boudica . Hope your iso is going well

So it showing 1.3 or 1.4 is normal even if it's listed as 1.0ohm? I was having the same issue with the Kanthal coils that I bought from them too.
    $3.73 Authentic Superfine A1 Wire - 30*2/38 AWG / 0.25mm*2/0.1mm dia. / 10pcs/pack at FastTech - Free Shipping

My 2*32/38 ss316L VV coils read around the 0.9-1.0Ω mark. In the DL FL on a Colossal, it's 0.88Ω.

So unless your batch has an extra wrap? my guess is you got ss316L 30/38 clapton coils (1.35Ω) or ni80 coils (1.2Ω) or kanthal (1.5Ω) in a ss316L 2*32/38 container. Which happens - I got mkws 0.4mm x 0.1mm wire on a reel labeled 0.14mm x 1.0mm (what I wanted) from FT.

You can test it: If the ohms rise slightly when heated, it's 316L possibly the 30/38 clapton coils.

If ohms stays the same when heated - a new ni80 coil will give you pretty colours on its first dry burn, like ss316L does. Kanthal doesn't give you any pretty colours :grr:

I'm not sure how hot I dry burn. I just use the Coilmaster Tab and I don't think it shows a wattage. I was under the impression that you really have to be careful when drive burning SS coils.

As long as you are pulsing it at low wattages eg 15watts, it's fine.
