Okay this is weird. AVS sent an email with a sale code. So I grabbed a couple spools of wire and checked out. They mention age verification- I don’t recall them doing that before, but it has been a while. I put in my birthdate and checked out no problem. Got a confirmation, then I got an email asking for my driver’s license- and I replied just cancel the order, I’m not sending a pic of my DL.

Five minutes later I get a shipping notice. Nothing since. So I maybe bought wire, maybe didn’t.

I mean I’ve had shops ask for my DL, but when I declined, they canceled. Fair enough. Kind of weird if they ask for it then just go ahead with the order if ya tell them to pack sand. Or maybe they needed my $23 really bad. Lol.

Code is 50off if anyone is interested.

Same thing happened to me with Central Vapors. I went back and reread the email. They appeared to be saying that if they had the DL photo on file they wouldn't have to ask for age verification each time you made an order. So the request for the DL photo wasn't about the order I had just made. Maybe it's easier for them to process orders that way. Maybe they have to run your details somewhere each time to verify your age. Maybe that costs them money.

Whatever it is I don't want to send pictures of my DL to people, even with details blacked out.

As this thread is about shiny things I thought I would show my results on the Hellfire Titan which is made from Titanium and scratches easily and suffers from atty rash. I tried all my normal polishing techniques and nothing worked on Titanium... So as a last resort I brought out the Micro-Mesh. It was a winner and now the scratches are gone as is the atty rash! So for the Titans in future, I will be using atty rash protectors!

Already this year I've broadened my horizons

I got these 510 drip tips ages ago, similar to this FT SKU, here's an old pic of one:
View attachment 924453
Because they are so wide, they got relegated to the drawer. Yesterday, I opened the Pandora's Box Drawer and tried one in a Dvarw DL. And I loved it  It needs more rounded edges at the top, to be comfortable - but it's opened up a HUMUNGOUS amount of 510 DT options at FT including these ones:
$6.51 AOLVAPE Resin 510 Drip Tip (4 Pieces) 4-pack - 12.5mm / ships one of each color at FastTech - Free Shipping

and these:
$11.39 Resin 510 Drip Tip (5 Pieces) 5-pack - 17mm / ships one of each color at FastTech - Free Shipping

Guys, anyone knows where's Eskie?
His last post was here on Jun 4, 2020
I remember he mentioned his daughter had a serious case of covid but she was getting well after all.
We all hoped for the best but fear the worst.we had many PM's and even phone calls with no response.

We should have started looking for squonking collections with spreadsheets for sale.

I managed to kill my first Dvarw DL PC tank tube
It's my berry mix, so I doubt it was the juice. Plus the crack is right at the base, and is more likely caused by me over tightening the tank section

Anyway, I found replacements here:
https://m.aliexpress.com/item/1005001843257749.html

and for now, I'm trying the 6ml tank kit out with 25mm glass. If that ends up annoying me (by breaking, or how it looks), then I'll use a 3.5ml tank kit - as I have a few spares :D

Functionality wise - I put the tank support back on since it's glass, and I'm good at breaking stuff. But I can unscrew it on and off the mod no problem, with the 25mm glass on.
Looks good to me.....:thumb::thumb:

Hi Rob
If the scratches are too deep nothing will work except sanding down the metal....titanium is hard too....glad the micro mesh worked. I have a set and they're brilliant.

Happy New Year by the way

,
Hope your health battle is working to your favour @charlie1465 , you sure do deserve it, I woke up this am so all is well lol.:p
Yup I'm getting stronger and stronger. Still having immune ivg and monoclonal drip every two months but cancer cured for the moment anyway. Just a question of relapse really. I eat as really healthy diet and take several specific supplements which I'm sure are helping.....now it's all about exercise and healthy life choices.

Hope you're ok too

You think he's got covid and didn't make it?
Don't know for sure Dream. What we do know is that COVID was hitting NYC worse than any other part of the country around the time he stopped posting. Not hearing from him in so long is kind of looking like... not so good.

Exactly, not for anything, but certainly not wire. For Pete’s sake lol.

So someone who is, say, starving, in an abusive relationship, working at a degrading job with a terrible boss, and has--oh, I don't know--postherpetic neuralgia and chronic migraines just doesn't have the right attitude if he or she doesn't love his/her life?

Pshaw.

Well, I for one do not love my life. I’m very much in charge, and when the train goes off the rails, I get it back on. Too much beyond my control though.

I’ll take the lumps for what I screwed up, just as quickly as I take the praise for what I’ve done right, but I did not ask to be widowed.

And I’m not directing this at you, SMT, but I’m sure you’ve had the same experience - people do not understand how hard it is. And they have unrealistic expectations.

I made the mistake of complaining about feeling stuck to my sister. And there was no mistaking the cattitude in her voice when she said, “Well, WE made a plan, and WE stuck to it. That’s why WE are satisfied with life!”

And there was no mistaking the disgust in my voice when I replied, “We made a plan, too. But we didn’t PLAN on him dying!”

They don’t get it. They think it’s all business as usual, but you’re sad. I had to learn how to do things I never had to deal with, and even the stuff I knew, I had to learn a new way. I’m not at all impressed with any of this.

That said, I’ve put a lot of great things into my life, I keep myself amused and have fun, I am creative. I do the best I can with what I have. Do I love my life? Hard no! I did not sign up for this.

Wow lots of heavy topics in here today. Let’s assume he’s alright! And let’s not forget to bring up his name. Regularly. We’ve already lost too many ECF’ers. :sneaky: He is hopefully ok, dealing with life.

I’ve lost so many family members and friends, including a parent. Best friends. I’ve brought myself to the brink of life a handful of times as well. Modern culture is funny, they drug the dying up, file them away in neat rooms. TV programming to help keep your mind off of your sentence. The reality is, dying is hell. And everything is made for the living. Everything is marketed to the living. Even the dying feel guilty for ruining our good time. The least we can do is ritualize a little memory of who they were. Bring them up here and there, in a thread like this. Try to adopt something you liked about them, into who you are. Try to find them - their personalities, in those still living, around us.
