The problem disappeared after I cleaned the Aegis's 510. Other attys worked with it sans difficulty before the cleaning, but I suspect the KFL19, with its short pin, couldn't connect because of some minuscule droplet of e liquid or speck of dust. I don't think there's anything amiss with the Kayfun, given that the coil read just fine on the ohm reader and a couple of other mods.Faulty ohm reader in chip.
Aegis is on way out.
Coil leg not screwed down properly or loose post.
Positive pin on atty come loose and needs screwing in again.
Faulty wire if it's a Clapton.
That's all I can think of. May be a good idea to dismantle the atty if other ones work fine on the mod.

The experience has renewed my nervousness about mechs, sorry to say. The prospect of an atty spontaneously shorting on a mech scares the bejesus out of me.

Is the 510 pin tightly screwed in on your KFL? After recoiling 3 times due to jumping ohms, and the problem ending up being a loose 510 screw
- it's now the first thing I check.And I agree about mech mods. After using my mech dotsquonks daily for so long with no problems, it's easy to become complacent. I build and rewick on a reg. mod, but a harmless reminder like you have had shows how important that stage is.

Finally home from my daughters. Missing my own good bed drove me home. I had been coming home daily to check on my cats and do clean up etc. But home now totally to sleep. Not everyone at her house was as safe as I wanted them to be so that was another factor.
Still waiting on the darn pathology report and nothing new to add. I have not bought shiny in so long.
Last thing I did buy was a few of those Freemax Gemm's, disposable tanks and I gotta say I kind of dig them. No leaking and not much more then buying coils for the one you have to clean that only seems to last about 4-6 months anyway. I have three things in rotation and this thing has lasted me a good solid 2 weeks so far. I will see how long it does last before I buy more.
There is not way I could possibly catch up but I tried one day and saw lots of well wishes so thanks to all for those

Just be careful with checking your positive pin protuberances and you'll be fine......or use a non hybrid mech!
I suspect that the 510 had become diirty with oxides from frequent use. Don't let what I said about positive pins put you off mechs....you know the drill. It doesn't have to protrude much

Here you are....all capella apart from the fresh cream which is Flavour West and for 100ml. NIC, Pg and VG your choice. I use max VG.
Green apple. 4.0g
Raspberry. 3.0g
Sweet guava. 2.0g
Sweet strawberry. 2.0g
Fresh cream. 1.0g
It's quite a light mix that gets better with steeping although it's essentially a SnV. You may want to increase the quantities using the same ratios for personal taste. Hope you like it. If you tweak it let me know what you did and I'll give that a try too
