Charlie you are the Maestro
I was lucky to witness an absolutely stunning sunrise again this morning. I'm still going through the pics, but these are my favourite two:

These are some of my locals. Most are common everyday birds, but this is the first white-capped and bluebird I've seen in my yard.

I have oodles of those red sparrows at my bird feeder. I thought it was a finch since it was colorfulDowny woodpecker, femaleView attachment 931537

I know how that is. My sweet Beana passed last week and still finding myself looking for her.

I love tufted titmouses/titmice.Here's another great find, tufted titmouse. It's so easy not to notice great little birds, assuming they're just sparrows. Lucky for me, sparrows make great models so I practice on them all the time. View attachment 931575

Hey fellow Dvarwers I have a question. I am testing out the Dvarw DL for the first time today and was wondering what wattage some of you use it at. I'm not getting much flavor out of it so far.

I am using these $3.38 Authentic Ni80 Superfine Heating Wire - 10pcs/pack / 30*2/38 AWG / 0.25mm*2/0.1mm dia. / 0.7ohm at FastTech - Free Shipping.Depending on the coil, I run mine at 20-25 watts. If I'm using 30*2/38 then it's 25-30 watts.
Just keep increasing your wattage until it makes you happy
Knowing how hard it is to take a good photo of a fast moving subject, makes these even more stunning![]()

First time using Ni80 coils. I was running at 16-18 watts. I'm guessing that's too low?
Around 12 watts is what I normally do for MTL on a .9 or 1.0 coil, so I just assumed I needed to push it higher for a DL.That’s higher than I would run a .7, but that’s just me. I’d be around 12w. But I always use way lower watts than most. Crank it up a bit at a time, you’ll know when you’re happy with it.
Back at ya Kat!
Sadly no. we try to keep his name alive in the thread and hope one day he will saunter in the door of the shiny thread again. Eskie we miss you![]()
