Yes that's a good use of your camera knowledge....the main thing is that your output looks real world as it was when you saw it imo....sometimes the highlights and lens flare can be used to your advantage....not necessarily a bad thing. A camera hood helps but depends on the angle of the light to camera.

But I'm guessing you can't put a hood on your lens??

Awesome colours and reflections in the water

Yup, there's a hood available for it, plus an adapter ring to turn it into a 58mm so I can use other accessories.

Camera knowledge: I'm definitely still learning, and have a hell of a lot left to learn. But I do know I would not have been able to take the pic below, 2 months ago. It would have blown highlights all over the place.

It amazes me how some clouds and a bit of light, can turn a puddle in a paddock into this:

Only a day with mine but I like it. I just need to use a little less wick next time.
Hope my advice to use plenty of wick didn't send you astray. I love crackle and usually wick my attys just on the dry side of gurgling. So maybe my idea of plenty of wick is different to most people :2cool:

Yes love the crackle. To me if it’s not crackling something’s not quite right. Probably why I spend far more money on the handmade rba alien coils than I should lol.

What coils do you like? After your post about the Mob Mini, I put that in my cart. Deck looks simple and good. How do you build yours to get such great flavour?

That's just put me off from trying a 3mm.....an SS coil should crackle though regardless of the wicking technique but to me if an Ni80 is crackling more than slightly it's not wicking properly....maybe ok for you if you leave a long time between draws but that sounds dangerously close to a dry wick to me....of course YMMV

I use the Kosher Koils rba aliens. Check his website. As for the Mobb mini there’s a couple good YouTube build videos. Coil placement is crazy high above the airflow. I don’t understand how it works but it sure does. All my other attys you typically want the coil kinda close to the air flow. Wicking is just like the Exocet and zeta. The mobb has tiny juice cups the wick sits in and why I believe it works so good. I’ve got or had most of the boro rba’s and this one is hands down my favorite.

Let me try this again lol. I use kosher koils ni80 rba aliens. Check out his website. As far as the Mobb Mini watch a couple reviews on YouTube. The coil placement is crazy high instead of down close to the airflow “ don’t know how it works but it just does”. The wicking is like the Exocet and Zeta. The mobb has little tiny juice cups and I believe that’s why it works so well. Be careful with the little tiny “ and I mean tiny” post screws. That’s the only drawback to the rba. I’ve got or hadmost of the boro rba’s and this one is my favorite.

Ni80. I quit fooling with SS after I just went to regular wattage mode. I do enjoy SS but for me I like the ease of use and cleaning with ni80 or kanthal
Agreed....Ni80 is my favourite too.....just needed to make the crackly distinction in case of confusion :)
