A simple case of Goldilocks being on charge of the wicking, instead of me.

First one was too loose. Second one was too tight, I pulled some off and it was then way too loose. Third one was ok but uneven on one side When I thinned it I thinned to too much and pulled most of the cotton out from the coil. Fourth one was ok and even, I snipped off the tails and cut one end way too short.

Fifth one I stuffed, cut, and juiced regardless of how it looked :D

I have days like that. That’s why I keep a lot of drop ins around. If I can’t get it right the first three times I just give up and make life easy!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope all is well in Shiny land!

New to my stabwood stables is a new 18650 VA Marquis in deep blue with a Juggernaut rta. It’s slightly smaller and lighter than the 21700 Marquis from Vicious Ant website that carries both the 18650 and the 21700.

Up close and personal the blue has an almost 3D effect in areas. Blues my favorite color so I’m really happy this looks as good in person as it did on the UK stabwood site.

    Rain all-day here....yuk!!

Brunhilde MTL came yesterday and I've just realised they've sent me black instead of SS. I've sent them an email so let's hope they sort it out quickly. I've gone ahead and built it anyway and I've got to admit I love it. Perfect draw wide open, no inserts and flavour on par with a Dvarw. Here she is mismatched on my SS SBS

I’m glad you like it. Sorry they sent you the wrong color. I got the blue one but haven’t really found a mod yet that goes well with it. I’ve just been using it on the Hyperion so far.

or maybe I was just having a bad wicking day. How much did you thin out the tails? I kept it about the same length that DJLS and Mike Vapes had on their videos. But I’m using rayon but I’ve never had any trouble using their advice on cotton wicking and using it for rayon as well.

I’ll give it another go tomorrow. If you run your tank down I’d love to see your coil placement and wicking.

I finally got my dreaded merlin tank to stop leaking with a 3.5mm coil to stuff the wicking ports with ample cotton. Yet another reason I like squonking, nice and simple.:)

I just saw on FB that lost vape is doing a limited release of Centaurus dna stabwood kits but have no idea where to get one.

Tried looking around using my inherent out of this world google skills and could only find these:

    https://vapeomax.es/kits-mods/centaurus-dna-250c-mod-lost-vape-limited-stabwood-series

Lost Vape Centaurus DNA 250C Mod - Limited Stabwood Edition - Lost Vape Centaurus DNA 250C Box Mod Limited Stabwood Edition Lost Vape Akkuträger / Mod

Not sure if it was the model you were talking about.

The picture on FB someone posted showed a gift box with the mod and a leather cover.

    Morning shinies ;)

what are the really wide 810 drip tips called? Are they goon style?

From what I saw at FT, goon style is an 810 with a flat smooth 810 connection - no o'rings. If you want to find more fat ones at FT, the resin ones are under this category:
    https://www.fasttech.com/category/3017/drip-tips-others#!/177=Drip Tips - Others|p=0|s=l|ps=30|k=
Switch to the Advanced e-cig category if you want to narrow down the search results:
On the left you can add in measurements to narrow down what you want. For your style, I changed the Width to 15mm to 20mm and the Height to 0mm to 15mm - then just click refresh results. There's other drip tip categories as well, just click on the top drop down menu and change it there. This is a goodie for resin/ss ones:

Exactly as you say Bud. The flavor has improved drastically since I put some serious thought and measure into it.
Because it's a side air flow with only one inlet, the coil position is critical. I took the cap off, rested it into it's position on the deck and eyeballed the height so it hits the bottom of the coil....like in the photo. See how high the coil is...I first had it lower, but that caused the air to hit the middle of the coil...muting the flavor.

Like I said the flavor is very good now. Don't think it can be as good as my bottom air flow ones, but it's damn good...and good enough for me.
I'll play some with the coil's distance to the holes...moving it forward towards the holes with my next rewick.
It does take a bit of tinkering, but well worth it when you taste the improvement.
Thank you!!! :) Please post an update when you get to moving your coil closer to the airflow holes. I am very curious to hear your findings before I buy one.

I totally agree with you, it is, IMO as well, extremely tough to beat bottom airflow. All the RTA's I kept are bottom AF. My Creek RDA's are the only bottom AF RDA's that I know of. Those suckers pack serious flavor. :thumb: Major flavor. Flavor on an epic scale. So epic that... well, I think you get the picture. :D

Try it without thinning out, or trimming, your rayon tails.

In my personal experience with rayon, some RBA's perform best with thinning, or trimming, some off the tails. With other RBA's it really doesn't matter much, IMO. I switch off between cotton and rayon in every RBA I own. I like using both.

Just curious, have you tried using cotton in it?

Another thought, what is your coil ID? You might consider going with a larger coil ID so you can use more rayon. That might solve your leaking. Just a thought. :)

Good afternoon, evening and morning where ever you are! :)

No new shiny gear. I am still on the fence with the Aspire Kumo RDTA.

Flavors, and flavoritis, are another matter entirely. I just received an order from Nom Nomz (UK) and am waiting on an order from BCF (15% off Halloween sale). Other than that, I received some Samsung 25R 18650's and Sanyo NCR2070C 20700's yesterday.
