Yes they love water. Their natural habitat is high rainfall and hot humid conditions. Same as Kikuyu the leaves "die off" in winter. Another characteristic is it grows well in shaded areas.
Right now I've got a Qbix in a delro and a Xeta in a BB. Those two are definitely my favs. I haven't rested the Qbix for a single day since I got it.
The Boxx had a long rest until I broke it out yesterday. Still like the Boxx but the air is a bit too wooshy (technical term) for me sometimes.
Maybe the grass we call Buffalo here is a hybrid bred for more temperate climates? It's on most of the nature strips and lawns here and does ok year round. We rarely get frosts in this part of Sydney though.
The further west (away from the coast) you go in the Sydney Basin, the more extremes of temperature. In Western Sydney they get frosts quite a lot. They also get hotter summer temps because the NE sea breeze that cools down the more coastal parts, doesn't reach that far inland.
That is interesting. I don't think of drastic climate differences within cities, but given that, around here, it's generally hotter in summer and colder/snowier in winter just a few miles up the road from me, I'm a big dummy for not doing so.
Yeah that makes sense. Where the original one grows naturally, none of the people owes any winter clothing

Yeh I saw that review when it came out. Pretty funny.
Like @charlie1465 has posted a few times, the Boxx is pretty much a Mixx with boro compatibility instead of a 510. Same ASP chipset, same battery tube, same CNC aluminum manufacture. Very solid.
The Qbix/delro combination suits me well. Great flavour and smooth af with the 3.5mm insert.
