you change the composition of the metal with rapid cooling from glowing hot.
Yep that's a BIG no no for me. I only rinse cold coils that has already been dry burned.
I have to rinse off the burnt tobacco sugars...or it'll start off with a bitter taste...or so I tell myself :thumb:

Everything except the Juggerknot Mini rta was a prize from The Vaping Fossil in Oz.

First impressions of the Aspire Cloudflask S are, I love it! Sorry Fred, it's not going north :w00t: It's a completely basic bypass, no adjustable airflow, DL device. I love the centre fire button, the 5.5ml pod, the size and the quality. It came with the 0.25ohm coil, which I'm guessing is 50w at full power - and the flavour is fantastic. Airflow is perfect and it's also cloudy as hell :D
Damn I loose out again :p
Nice bundle there Ange. What Aspire coil does the flask use?

It's a specific Cloudflask coil. There's a 0.25ohm - 0-50w and a 0.6ohm - 0-20 watts
Damn...wish I could test the airflow on that 0.6ohm coil. Maybe next year when our honeymoon periods are over I can send you a Cabeo and a dual coil Unicorn down and you send me the flask up...for a week to test...?

Finally yesterday I got my package from Wireoptim. It looks like it got ran over. The envelope is empty and there is a big home in the side of the envelopeView attachment 965049

Unbelievable! I hope I have better luck with my package from them! I can’t believe the mailman left it like that without a note or something!

Morning Shinies

Loving the Cabeo....it's a very good RTA. It wicks better than the Brunhilde for sure although I'm running the latter with no insert, wide open. It's always saturated in the morning first thing but can't keep up and that's only four to five puffs. No such problem with the Kumo or Cabeo....just my vaping style I suppose

Re coil cleaning I always rinse first then just pulse really gently. I never allow the coil to become anymore than dark red.....now the other way could be dodgy as metal tempering is done by heating the metal and then plunging it in water to cool it really quickly. I've only got knowledge regarding SS though as that's the metal you would normally be using in the tempering process. Just my :2c:

Have a good one

I'm running mine through the ultrasonic cleaner right now. That'll sort any residual oil.
I'm using 2.5 too but I did notice that on Mark Todd's video he used a 3mm. Might give it a try but my only 3mm drop ins are SS but I could always make one I suppose....lazy :)
Yeah you're right Charlie. A 3.0mm coil fits snugly into the Cabeo. Definitely better flavor than the 2.5mm.

I do it a little differently - pulse first (about 12W for a 0.5 Ohm coil), then rinse any residue that's been lifted off the coil.
When the coil's cool, a gentle scrub with one of those FT nylon coil brushes. One more quick pulse to dry it out. Sometimes one more rinse under the tap.
Like you I never let the coil get hotter than a dull red.

I called my Post Office and was told they have to leave it even if it is damaged. :-x

    Somewhere between here and there
View attachment 965177 Hi guys. Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile. I’ve been too busy with work and FB trying to keep up with all the boro stuff being released. I still drop in from time to time to read the content and reviews of all the new gear and advice in here.

    Wow! That's really sharp!

    Brilliant idea!

I'm waiting to see if the 0.6 coil is going to be sold from someone over here before I buy some. I also want to figure out if it's a semi-bypass chip or fixed voltage for the 2 coils. Aspire and other sites are saying bypass, but the wattage ratings don't add up with the voltage via ohm's law. I could watch a review, but I'll be lazy and just vape it until I know :D

If it is bypass, then I'm happy with the 0.25ohm coil due to the airflow and the flavour. If it's fixed, I'll want to try the 0.6ohm.

After Christmas/New Year and when our post system is less deluged, we should definitely do some vapemail-switcheroos. I was thinking of sending you my Arbiter Solo for some serious drilling, and that way you can try it out yourself first.

I heard from the guy at Wireoptim and he is resending my package of coils that got damaged by the Post Office.
    One worry off my back.
The other major worry is ongoing since Friday when I opened a letter from the IRS and read that they are demanding 334,000 from me. Yes, that is correct that amount of zeros. I could hardly read the notice as the room was spinning and my breath was choking me.
Finally, I was able to interpret some of it.
Seems the sale of my house in Burbank was NOT reported on my tax return in 2019. I was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and just not paying attention and just let my tax preparer do it and I signed.
Basically, the IRS thinks I am trying to abscond with all the capital gain money they THINK I accrued in the sale of the house. They are not aware that I inherited about 400K and paid another 250K to gain the house.
It all has to be amended and I will owe but only on about 100K.
The worst part of it is I have to pay a tax accountant $250 an hour to sort through it :-x
AND my dog needs another dental due to a loose tooth, isn't there a crying emoji? I need one (or three) no shiny for me for a while
