@Poppyclark123 I just remembered why I don't care for most voopoo products; they like to tell you what's best for all. The trick is to put your device in rba mode; been too long since I had to do this to remember as I no longer use their products but it was a simple fix. Look up a review on youtube or read the manual for the how to. Once you are in rba mode the mod will keep your preferred wattage setting.

As far as the pod discussion goes, I use both. I use a pod for a pocket carry at work and mods and tanks in the car and at home.
I've recently started using pods for out and about too. Work and any public places. I'm going fishing today and will have a little Justfog Minifit in my pocket- ljght, convenient and no great loss if it gets damaged.
Home is a different story - its more about enjoyment of nice devices and less about purely nic delivery, so the pods don't get a run.

I used to look down at pods as being the death of vaping but don't see it that way anymore. Whatever works.

Were the ones you tested the new LE version? I don’t run anything at 100 watts and don’t have a test jig to do in depth performance tests. What is the setup you’re using? I don’t know if I’d be comfortable publishing information like that unless all my test equipment had been calibrated by a test lab.
The data you see is from the LE. As far as I know, the only difference between the LE and the OG are are the color options. Everything else appears to be exactly the same.

The data acquired is more or less using Ohms Law and is almost purely calculated with the exception of the mods that provide both a volt and amp readout under load. DNA chips can also provide this info via Escribe.

I'd say probably 90% of the mods on the market offer a voltage readout. Voltage over actual resistance reading will give you the amp draw to reach the indicated wattage setting. Using Ohms Law, you can see how accurate it's firing for the intended wattage.

This data isn't being published as scholarly work - I have no fears with sharing my findings. If a mod or product does not live up to what it's advertised and my experience with that product reflects that, I will be sure to include that in the review. After all, we're reviewers and not promoters.

Edit: If you're wondering about the reliability of my info, I've been comparing it to the findings of DJLsb Labs on YouTube and the performance stats for the products he's tested with pro equipment has been very steady with the results I've found for the products we've both tested.

Either your watts are too high and or your juice has a lot of sweetener. I will say if you are hooked on sweet juices rebuildables is about the only option for saving a lot of money. I would suggest trying a vaperesso gti tank; my sweet tooth hit and I got 3 great weeks and another week of still good flavor out of the 0.4 coil.
Honestly if you stick to single coil builds going the RTA route isn't nearly as intimidating as it seems; especially if you choose a top air tank starting out. We would all be happy to help you out with tips & tricks.
I've also been a fan of the iTank and the GTi coils. They've been holding their own, and are definitely up there with FreeMaX, Uwell, and Innokin coils for their respective vape types.

Welcome to the thread @Poppyclark123. Not sure if you are interested, or not, but I would recommend looking into RBA's and a couple mods that can take external batteries. Those would save you some money in the long run.
I remember when I first started, the whole idea of "rebuilding" seemed so daunting to me. Mech mods, even further. While I can't say I've been using mech mods (they're stashed for the vapocalypes), rebuilding was not nearly huge leap that I had originally imagined. So many "what if" scenarios running through my head, only to find out that pretty much every regulated mod on the market will protect you against most of those "what if"s.

I'm glad this site is still active enough to help people make these intimidating jumps - it's not nearly as bad as we first imagine it. Mech mods however, are kind of a whole different thing, lol.

I have a couple of these and love them. But they are using external batterires. Not sure the OP wants that
Yeah, I understand. It's hard for me to advocate a product that has a pre-defined shelf-life (internal batteries), but I understand for some that this is an easier option. Still, for $30-40, the options are pretty limited for both internal and external battery kits.

To me, Smart Mode is one of the biggest gimmicky "innovations" (if you want to actually call it that) to come to the market.

If you give a toddler that is fully capable of walking (with a little effort) a miniature wheelchair, then you're essentially crippling them when their wheelchair breaks down.

I think this is doing more harm to the market than good, but leave it to companies to do whatever they can to get people to buy their products.

Mech mods aren't hard to use as long as one minds their build, knows and understands Ω's law, keeps them clean (esp the contacts), makes sure they have properly rated and safely wrapped batteries.

Ya always know when it's time to change batteries. Wimpy hits. An 18650 mech squonker will easily last me a day before I need to swap batteries. I usually run builds between 0.4Ω and 0.5Ω on my mechs. A 0.4Ω build with a battery down to 3.6v gives me 32w, and right about there I swap batteries.

I usually run 4-5 mech mods. Squonks and tubes / RDA's and RTA's. The other 3-4 mods in rotation are regulated. Funny, I still drip high octane flavorless nic on a tube mech every morning. :w00t:

If I had to choose between mech and regulated... mechs win, hands down. I love the simplicity and they will, if properly maintained, last long after I'm gone.

I understand this now and know when I start using mech mods, what will be needed to build properly for them. Also with the lack of safety features, even the most veteran of veterans can make an easy slip up with them (see GrimmGreen, lol.) However, as a newbie, I feel like this requires the most amount of research before feeling comfortable with them.

Think Vape Craton DNA 100C mod for $105.95 including S&H from FT.

I've been interested in picking one of these up for awhile, but was sidetracked by boro mods / gear instead. I use my Hyperion fairly often, and it would be nice to have another 21700 DNA 100C device around.... ;) I like the Dani Box / Squid Industries Double Barrel vibe the Crafton has. It looks well finished and constructed for the $$ as well. I missed the recent 12% off sale, but have $10.00 bucks in rebate points sitting around.... :)

    Yes. Absolutely.

Forgot to mention, I always build and then double check my build on a regulated GV Aegis Solo before moving an RBA over to a mech. The OG Solo's read as accurately as any of my DNA mods. The Solo's are, IMHO, perfect for doing builds on.

I'm happy using full mech squonk mods as it's an rda and a non-hybrid connection. It's a good way to dip your toe in the mech world, once you have the knowledge on board. Whereas most tube mods don't personally appeal at all, due to the bottom fire button.

What scares me, is the thought of using a mech bb type AIO device. Mainly due to the amount of times I've had an rba or tank rba short out in my Boxx - yet read fine on a mod. So I'm sticking to reg. devices in that particularly huge rabbit hole!

I grabbed 2 Hyperions a few months ago and don't need to tell you how well the 100C performs, lol. From my understanding, Think Vape is highly regarded for their build quality, so I doubled down on this one. I've been torn between this and the dual 18650 Auxo - guess that will have to be for another day. Remember to purchase the gift card for another 3% off.
