Most people who are active on this forum have equipment for a lifetime.
There are probably not many of us who make a living from the vape industry, most of us are customers.

They have their place and role, a simple product to grasp.
But these days when many governments are trying to find a way to reduce resource wastage, I wouldn't be surprised if they are imposed large taxes and fees.
I have enough hardware for a few lifetimes. I don't make a living from doing reviews. As a matter of fact, I don't get paid at all. I do it because I like doing it but this pod trend is really wearing on me and some other reviewers. When eight out of ten are smallish pods it gets a little monotonous. I get the disposable thing helping smokers quit but I wonder how many just keep using disposables? At least the newer ones I'm seeing are rechargeable and some are refillable but it's still a lot of waste to throw out a device once the battery or coil fail. The innobar C1 just had disposable pods but the battery portion is rechargeable.

Disposables. Just what the world needs: more stuff to throw away.
I've started seeing packaging from disposable vapes littering the curbs and streets around our local seven elevens and servos (gas stations). The older teens and young adults don't bother vaping anything else - it's all disposables for that age group.
I pulled apart a disposable (I think the brand was "iGet") to see what the coil and wicking looked like. My gods it looked shonky. No way would I put that anywhere near my lungs.

The litter part of it is a big problem. Also, there seem to be thousands of different brands of them. The only ones I'll be reviewing will be from reputable companies like Innokin. I've had some different ones contact me and I turn them down. I figure at least the major manufacturers have some sort of reputation to uphold. That's my hope anyway.

    Morning shinies ;)

I've turned down brands who want disposables photographed for the same reasons as above. While I don't use pods much myself, I do have fun taking and editing their glamour shots

I pulled apart a failing POPMOD I did a review for. 2 out of the 3 ended up failing.

I wish I was half as good as you at the picture taking. Your photos are truly fantastic!

Those of you who order from Fasttech may want to put some giddy-up in your step to purchase what you can. Good luck.

I'm borrowing @BillW50's informative post from another thread...

Check your wish list on Fasttech and many items have been deleted. Fasttech won't been selling 90% of what they had anymore. Cash in your gift cards before it is too late.

    Dear valued customers,
From November 1, 2022, e-cigarette products have been regulated as tobacco products, which means they are subject to the same rules for licensing, production, sales, import/export, and taxation, among others, as traditional tobacco products. All e-cigarettes are subject to an ad valorem tax and exercise strict export standards and control.
The new measures and restrictions mark a considerably more hardline approach toward the industry. Most manufacturers have suspended stock supplying and focusing on the bonded warehouse, others are offering stocks with an unreasonable tax rate. Shipping is also being affected by stricter customs inspection.
In light of these new measures, we're considering options moving forward. Before a path is decided, we're sorry to say that we will be selling inventory only to prevent issues down the line. Non-e-cigarette products are also involved in removal due to technical limitations. We can't batch remove products based on both their stock status and category.
Please be assured that all existing orders will ship within the promised timeframe unless for stock shortage. Our CS will be in contact with you shortly if there is a shortage of stock occurs in your order.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
    Best Regards,
    FastTech Team

That's sad to hear. I'm not surprised though. I've had some review samples that never made it out of customs a while back. I don't buy a lot from FT but do use them on occasion. I've been having pretty good luck with 3Fvape.

I would not be surprised to eventually see the same happening with all the other online stores in China.

China did say they were going to regulate the vaping industry a while back. Somewhere, in some thread on ECF, I posted a link on that.

Hmmmm I just realized (accidentally)!that I haven’t received my fast tech order for the Blaze RDA. I have the Blaze RTA and the flavor is just the tops for an RTA. More so than almost any RTAs I’ve bought in a long while. I put in a support ticket and checked tracking that says it’s still in china. The order was placed in the beginning of October. I wonder if this is due to all the Covid lockdowns in some areas of China. The authorities are taking workers from the workplace and putting them all in isolation. If the worker is not working that day they go to the workers house and physically carry them out to be put in isolation. It’s China’s No Covid policy.

Anyone else getting delayed shipping from the Chinese vape sites? I know to be patient with these orders from overseas but this is over a month and supposedly still hasn’t left China. Or maybe it just hasn’t been updated.

As far as vaping goes, if I’m going to vape I want it to be exactly as I like my vapes and pods just won’t do that. I love vaping and I want to enjoy every puff/draw that I take on one.

I’ve only ordered a couple of times from FT this year because their prices weren’t much better than US prices. My go to has been Sourcemore. Unfortunately FT is usually a good place to find spare parts, drip tips and pre made coils.

So yeah this is a bummer. And now my still unorganized vape gear doesn’t look so over the top anymore.

Yes, and be glad that most of us are stocked to the gills with good solid hardware. Who cares if it is outdated. Not I
I’ve found out early on in my almost 5 years of vaping experience that many of the outdated or older devices are just as good if not better in some cases than the newer products being sold. Unfortunately it’s getting more difficult to find anyone selling older gear unless you’re patiently waiting to find one on the classies.

It's truly the end of an era. FT has been the backbone of hobbyist vaping for a long time. Can't see 3F surviving either.

I put through an order at FT earlier, once i saw my wishlist had shrunk from 80+ pages :sneaky: to 9. All I really wanted was boro tanks and more of my fave 810 drip tips and they were both still in stock.

That brings my drip tip collection up to 981.

the one thing that might be lacking is updates. But I have never really done that anyway. Even with the Lost Vapes Paranormals
