But I love them and they’re so important to our ecosystem. Only time I’ll kill one is if it’s in the house ready to ambush me only after attempting to remove it safely.
thats too bad they had a virus. Seems like it’s a problem everywhere. I bought a bee “house” to encourage them into their new home but the birds seemed most interested. Which actually was just as well since I’m highly allergic the bee stings or any lil’ bugger that can sting. I end up in the ER on IV meds to “control” the cellulitis that occurs.I agree.
When they entered my window wall, the whole bee swarm with the queen, I contacted beekeepers to save them.
Since no beekeepers had bees in my valley anymore, the swarm must have come from the neighboring valley. Then the beekeeper was obliged to kill my swarm due to the risk of bee disease.
We probably wouldn't have gotten the swarm out anyway, but that's why I had to eliminate them.
I learned a lot about bees that day.
