    Morning shinies ;)

Thats a really nice combo, what mod and RTA is that? I like how small the mod is, and really want one in that colour!

It's the Parsons SBS and Shift tank from Vaperz Cloud. Both are absolutely awesome.

Well I had a busy and um interesting day. Got up had coffee and watched a little TV. Rewicked 3 regular rotation mods. She then drug me to Sams where she spent a paycheck lol.
Came back ate lunch, rested a bit and went to do yard work.

I go through this whole boring story for when I came back in after 2.5 hours outside. She had fallen asleep watching a show. As soon as I came in the back door something smelt burnt. More of the burnt electronic smell than food etc..

Wandered around and came to my desk to have a vape.
That's when I found the problem.

My dotSqounk committed suicide on my desk. I had used it before I went outside and it was fine. When I looked down at it, I thought where is my drip tip. Went to pick it up and the body all but burnt my hand.

Hurried and grabbed a rag and took it outside. Removed the battery and snapped this pic.

Not sure how why or what exactly happened. But this setup is now retired. This could have been a disaster. I mean dayum, the drip tip melted on a single coil rda.

I have had regulated stuff go bad and die or auto fire. But a mech is new for me. Maybe I will do an autopsy later.

Carry on and be careful all!

That’s crazy! One time I had a battery charger fail and two 18650 batteries over charged and launched a battery 20 feet across the garage and hit the door. I always charge batteries in the garage.

I'm just glad the only thing that got melted was your drip tip and not your house.

Sorry to hear about your dotSquonk HTR.

I am betting that the firing mechanism on yours caused the problem. It's not (at all) the best design for a firing mechanism. To say it is a pee poor design would be an massive understatement.

Should you decide to perform said autopsy, Six years ago Alex from dotMod posted a video for taking the dotSquonk apart. I found it to be very helpful for cleaning mine. It's a very easy procedure.

Alex mentions people having 'issues' with the firing mechanism, hence the video. ( hmmm....... dotMod knew about the 'flaw' )

IMHO, the dotSquonk is a very nice mod, but........ I will never understand why they chose to design the firing mechanism as they did along with using a non-standard 510 squonk assy. - compared to the total simplicity of all my other mech squonks (IOW, any of the numerous 'standard' mech squonk designs).

There have been others who had the same auto-firing problem w/their dotSquonks.

See the DotMod dotSquonk thread and check-out the photos on page two. Shiny member JFCooley had the same problem as you (and others), see pg3. He sent his back to dotMod and they repaired it. On pg1 the design flaws are very clearly noted in this post. Another member on pg2 also had his auto-fire.

It's not a 'pure' mech mod. Why? Because they soldered a wire from the 510 assy to the battery contact. Mech purists say that is a no-no.

There is also another person with the auto-fire problem over on PotV. This thread.

Way too late for this now, but, never leave a battery unattended in a mech mod.

Good luck with whatever you end up doing.

That's my new motto in life, and I have lots of all 3!! I have Ange to thank for helping me with that one, and my awesome Toki that never leaves my side:wub:
I haven't mixed up my raspberry flavour yet. This is to boost the tastyness of the gummies we'll be making up and I need to make a 'special' ingredient to mix in with the gummies before starting. I'll fill you on how things turn out!!

That is so cool looking. Do the pods last long? And is the flavor strong?
    Thanks.

It's the Thoth t from Kumiho. And yes the flavour is brilliant, on par with the caliburns. They put out both replaceable pods and replaceable coils. I've only used it with the coils and had no trouble with them lasting the distance
