Recently sourcemore has put a $40 restriction on review items and that’s list price not bronze price. I’m very unhappy about this because it eliminates a lot of items that can be picked from. I am thinking about whether it’s worth the time spent on reviewing if most of what I would be able to pick would be pods and pod mods. I’ve reviewed for them for a long time but don’t know if that will continue.

Hi hitt, when did this thing come into effect?

I don’t think I’ve ever received products that were actually sold for more than $40, since with coupons there’s often a $20 discount. This means you could even receive $60 products with a coupon. I had asked for the Yihi SL Class some time ago, and they rightfully said no, but I think it was because there weren’t any coupons—probably due to a limited quantity they purchased from Yihi. Instead, I did receive an MQ Class, which, despite costing $54, had an active coupon.
I don’t quite understand what the Bronze Price is—does it mean the already discounted price?

It just started this year. I was told by my rep that it’s $40 max of the price listed on the site. No coupons affect that. The bronze price is if you have an established account and have placed orders with them like I have. It’s usually a pretty good discounted price for bronze accounts. So I can no longer pick items that are regularly priced over $40. I don’t know about you but I average 4-5 hours spent for each review and being limited pretty much makes it seem not worth the time or effort spent doing the review.

Strange, for me, it happened in August 2023, when I was told they had run out of budget, and it took them two weeks to ship me a simple $30 vaporesso Target, even though it was in stock and had a coupon.
Also, if they need to promote items with coupons, a potential customer is more tempted by a $60 item sold for $40 rather than a pod at full price or just $10 off, in line with other sites. It’s only a matter of time before they realize it doesn’t make much sense and revert to their old ways.
    4-5 hours
I just finished taking photos for another manufacturer, and it took me an hour between shooting and putting everything back in place. When I write the text, I do it in fragmented moments, so I have no idea how long it takes in total, but between writing, shooting, selecting photos, and posting, it definitely takes me 3-4 hours altogether. We’ll see what they tell me in a few days, thanks for the info.

I had just done the Nova review end of last year which is shown for $64 on the site and asked for the SXmini SL and was told it was too expensive. Then I was told about the $40 limit. It wasn’t explained until later that the limit was on the regular posted price and not bronze price. The one thing I always liked about reviewing for them was that I could pick something that I wanted to review as long as it wasn’t a dna mod or something. My thought right now is I’m not sure I want to continue with them if I have to pick a cheap device that I’m not really interested in doing just for the sake of picking something.

A sad day, the fetch mini fire button finally went haywire. I really liked this little guy. If the battery wasn't about done after 5 years I'd try a new switch. : (

    Condolences, @borno
That little guy looks well loved.

I was saddened to move on my Innokin MVP 3.0 Pros (as well as some Spinners and a little iStick) a while back. They didn't really suit my needs anymore and I did have some concerns about having them just hanging about with their aging batteries.
They will be fondly remembered though.

    Good morning shinies,
I ordered a mod yesterday, really just for the color, it will be the first for 2025, actually first vape gear of the year.

Don't keep us in suspense, what the heck did you order? ;)

Not much I’m interested in either. I do like the Parsons but not sure I want to spend that much on another mod.

I absolutely love my two and the dna80c chip. Though I'm not sure why they didn't go for the dna60c, maybe the extra wattage.

But if they bring out a 21700 version with a cheaper chip, I'm doomed.

Good news! I tried charging the Kroma-A using its official charging cord instead of the one with a magnetic connecter that I had been using, and it is now 100 percent charged.

I think posting a farewell to it scared it into behaving. That's how this stuff works, right?
It was a temporary reprieve: the other day, the Kroma-A mysteriously switched to TC and it took quite a while before I could get it back to wattage mode. It then switched itself unbidden a couple of time. A day or so later, it again decided on its own that TC was the way to go, and this time I could not nudge it back to W. Finally, it turned itself off and refused to come back to life again.

Adieu, Innokin Kroma-A, 11/06/18 - 3/23/25. My first mod. RIP.

Do you have an Abyss? If so is the button placement about the same? I very much like the Abyss with the sbs kit.

That board was designed for boros and side by side mods. If you were to put an 18650 battery upright, then a boro right beside it, the space below it is roughly the board size. That boro positive can be soldered directly to the board. All that's required is a solitary 2 inch wire to connect to the battery positive. Grand total 3 solder points.

On the 60C, it's 10 solder points just for the external charger board. So it can be a much quicker easier process for manufacturers. Plus Replay offers dry hit protection like TC, but it's not TC.

Yes it is and I agree completely. I do like how the abyss has a much lower tank shelf. I've got 3 abyss's but only one SBS kit .

I picked up some used ones on the classifieds before. I had one fail on my before I was using it as an sbs. I think I have 3-4 more besides the current one in rotation.

Tonight I dug out all my old Sub Tank Mini stuff. Once I get it listed and photographed it's going on classified in the hope there's someone out there who still uses that stuff. Probably sell it for shipping cost. If anyone here is interested let me know.

My first mod was a Sig 20 tube mod. I quit smoking with it. It lasted 5 years before it shorted out and died. By that time I didn't use it much, but it was still sad losing my first mod.
