Maybe someone has a dead one they could share with you? I keep a graveyard box in case I need to salvage pieces to fix another mod.

It's a flaw due to the poor design. Anyone with a dead one will have the same broken arms on the buttons.

Good idea though!

Hate to see what all this snow will mean for us when it melts... Mississippi is getting ready to crest at almost 17’, aka, as high as the levees like. They’ve already opened the spillway (google for videos if you want to see something cool... basically trying to lower the river by diverting )

Digging out of this today !!

I feel your pain! It wasn't fun. Fortunately, we had the driveway and cars cleared off before I got the call that an insurance adjuster was coming to the office to assess damage from the last storm.

Dang, he wasn't supposed to be here until tomorrow! Fast shower, hop in car and here I am - and the insurance adjuster is already gone! :glare: The good news is he agreed with the extent of the damage. Now it's on to the repair and claim process. Oh what fun NOT!

Are you going to replace it since you have to take it apart anyway?
You can't, it has a right angle input tube. There is no room for anything decent like the MM510BF or a Varitube. :(

I was pondering moving the guts to a 3D printed DNA 200 squonk case but it was a $160 mod.

Yup, the husband staggered out of bed, and stated he did not install them. I've had a busy couple of days, so mainly I'm glad he made it through his first day without tobacco. I think... based on his mood... Which I would describe as "faint." LOL. But oddly, the expectation of external willpower is causing me to have less, right this minute, so I'm avoiding any potentially "shiny" threads (except this one, LOL) to tempt me to purchase. I have everything I need, really. :)

Except a squonker, but we all know that's not happening any time soon.... :)

I’ve been fortunate that I have had any damage this winter. So far. Good luck with your repairs!

Took the face plate off of my Lost Vape Drone last night as the fire button was starting to feel a little too sloppy. Low and behold three of the 4 little plastic arms that hold the button in place were broken. Now to MacGyver a way to keep the fire button in place, I'm thinking a little foam rubber with double sided tape. It will be squishy but usable.

Also there has been juice leaking through the junk 510 connector Lost Vape used on the Drone and I have to take the unit completely apart for cleaning. Leaked into the battery wraps too, so those will be rewrapped as well. :glare:

To top all of that off, the little piece of 90° pipe for the tubing pulled out while I was looking to see how the 510 connector goes together. I'll need to get some lead free solder and tack that back in place.

Don't I just :censored: hate press :censored: fit junk!

I have no idea if your problem is anything like the problem I was having with the Lost Vape Coral - but I stopped the button from wiggling around in its hole by wrapping the button with that floss that's like teflon tape. It's been one day, but the button hasn't got stuck once.

Lost Vape is on my sheeet-list, iykwim

EDIT: I had to also buy some ridiculously expensive screws to replace one on the Coral whose head snapped off when I was opening it up. AND, I had to crazy glue the plastic frame that holds the buttons in place as it was cracking and if it broke I'd be SOL

Doesn't matter how much it cost if it doesn't work. I'd do the swap.

The fire button on the Drone is held in place by 4 little arms. They use this kind of design on all sorts of electronic gear for button retention. Some are quite good, but most are thin and will crack with use. Good to see LV chose the cheaper route, it probably saved them $10 on the production run of all the Drones. :grr:

Not my picture, but you can see the 4 arms holding the fire button suspended on the frame.

oh dear. Can't even imagine how that could possibly be fixed.

I see LV as the perfect counterpoint to the expression "You get what you pay for".
