Check the scientific supply companies like Fisher Sci, Carolina Biological, cynmar etc... they come with and minus heat option. Or Ebay. They’re often cheaper than amazon.
That's what I'll be looking for, adjustable low heat to soften the vg while mixing, not for steeping. I'm in the old school steeping with time camp.

You have done your homework. You are going to kill it when you do start DIY

What is different about it? I'd google it if I thought I'd understand a word of the description.
One board has the button pre attached, the other one you attach your own button allowing a bit more flexibility with board and button placement.

No, I ran the science labs ( chem, bio, physics, anatomy, and environmental) for a high school for 11 years... I did all the purchasing, so I spent a quantity of time every year looking for the best prices. They’ll have a sales push around now usually , because institutions tend to either mass order end of the school year, or in August. Prices will be higher in August, then coupons come out again in September. Sign up for emails, you’ll get the clearance sales and coupons. I bought 4 dozen pyrex graduated cylinders for about $5 each on clearance once, as they were changing brands. Yes, you can buy just one o_O.

@NolaMel Spaced coils. Try this,it worked for me. Dont know if it is the correct way bit it worked pretty good. Make a micro coil and when you get it nice with a centered glow and gently pull it back a little bit and voila a perfectly spaced coil that glows our from the center. I believe you are using 28 ga. So you gotta be gentle. I used 24 and it worked great. I run them low. It was .3 but hits like a .2 micro.

You should let us know where to find these sales and coupons when they come up!

I am getting that too.
Nope, just old and stubborn ... in my mind diy will be pretty much like making chemistry solutions. If I can manage full molar sulfuric acid ( granted, I had a fume hood), I should be okay with nic base. Thinking of making a mobile plexiglass surround for the cooktop as a makeshift fume hood using the cooktop vent hood for fume removal

Fume hood? Are you also doing forced patina mods? I like the smell of my mixing room!

@NolaMel Sandstorm in your hand yet?
Came this morning! That’s the Squid DB next to it, which I already thought of as a small mod
