I do lift my coil a few mm off the deck. Slightly raising the coil after I attach the legs. But you will see, it is easy. The trap-coil method is one of my favorites, because if you just do it right in the center of the screw, on both sides, and tug (very gently) you pretty much wind up with "ideal" coil placement. It should be hard to even make it "sit" on the deck, you'd have to pull down after placing the legs. Flavor is good just raised a hair from where the legs sit "flush" against the screw. I make sure everything is trapped pretty tightly, and then just tug up, a bit. That's where the flavor "shines" for me, but eh, you know, everything's different.

Also, the Siren typically comes with some machining oil, without a thorough clean it's going to taste not good. I do sometimes wonder if folks who complained about flavor washed it thoroughly enough. Because if that doesn't happen, you will get a funky taste for a fair amount of time.

Good luck, the Siren has one of the easiest build decks ever, very similar to the ares. Even I can do a good job building those suckers.

My builds, I sit the coils on the post and screw them down tightly the stick a coil jig inside at the appropriate diameter then tug them tight and get them in the appropriate place. I am thinking my build technique is similar to @stols001

Nope, just old and stubborn ... in my mind diy will be pretty much like making chemistry solutions. If I can manage full molar sulfuric acid ( granted, I had a fume hood), I should be okay with nic base. Thinking of making a mobile plexiglass surround for the cooktop as a makeshift fume hood using the cooktop vent hood for fume removal
TBH, thinking about my mixing process, I think gloves are excessive PPE... I bought a box of cool looking black nitrile gloves, havn’t Used a single glove!

I use gloves, but it doesn't do me much good. I mean... it's harder to tell if a glove gets eliquid on it than your hand, honestly. I've like, gotten my gloves good and saturated, and then wanted to wipe my face, and in the process of grabbing a paper towel and whatnot, I've wound up wiping eliquid all over my face. I don't use them anymore, really. I just do the nic first, try to pay close attention, and then put everything away then wash my hands. At least then I can tell if I've dropped a large amount of 100 mg/ml nic on me, I feel it and can wash it off immediately. LOL.

I'm thinking gloves may actually be a hazard, for some anyway.

That is real nice. Is that a 25mm tank on it?
Thanks! I do like it, too.

That's the Moonshot 24 with a Subtank Mini SS drip tip. A 25mm fits with no overhang, though. Tried it with the silver Yun 25 and it looks great. But that atty needs some maintenance (getting it tonight or tomorrow).

I atleast know how to keep contamination to the gloves, pull them off at the wrist, and hold the first glove in your hand as you pull off the second glove then tie off. That’s what we did working on the ambulance with legit hazards. You learn to not touch your face really quickly when your gloves are covered in a strangers blood or feces...

I preload a syringe with nicotine and cap it whenever I finish mixing, then uncap to transfer and mix with a blunt needle, I think the most I ever got on my skin was two-three drops while taking off the cap. I have most likely absorbed more nic filling my Sourin Drop with 50mg juice.

View attachment 732087 Fastest delivery I have ever received from the left coast on Vape stuff. Ordered Saturday delivered just today and regular shipping. Vape overlords had pity on me for getting a bum mech mod with the Cartel
Awesome!
Mine still shows Pre-Shipment and will take a while to make it through customs etc... :|

Guess she’l Get a good bath in the ultrasonic first. A call for patience as she dries. At least by then, she’ll have a coil waiting on her :)

I guess it’s a matter of being used to them. I have the purple nitrile, they fit like a second skin. Too loose and they are a hindrance. I use them when cooking messy stuff (long nails + gooey = yuck). You can wash and dry your hands without degloving even. I’m a little on the messy, move fast side, so I’ll probably use them with 100nic base. I don’t trust me. Y’all are probably safe. Me, meh, just maybe ;)

Fumes with nic? Non issue Mel.
I would still be careful even with the low % bases.

There is a careless ECF user who buys pure nic (1000mg/ml)... You open that stuff in the kitchen and everyone in the room dies, you get a drop on your skin and you die, your pets or children touch a spilled drop and they die...

I don't take nic for granted even in low levels. ;)
