My toothpaste has baking soda and peroxide in it.Actually it might say "tooth paste" on it
Not joking, you can achieve a good polish with that with only minimal abrasion.
Otherwise I'd look in the automotive department for something like this
Amazon.com: Rim Polish Aluchrom K2 - Conserves and protects the treated area with an invisible protective film. Ideally suited for maintenance of chrome and alloy rims.: Automotive
I'd try that and only move to more drastic measures when your elbow starts hurting. My toothpaste has baking soda and peroxide in it.

I looked at the Patina Mods page for suggestions. Besides automotive clearcoats,(and apparently aerospace clearcoats. they are very serious about their stuff) and baked enamels there were spray paint suggestions. I looked online and Rusto and Krylon had triple thick crystal clearcoats. The reviews on the Rusto were mostly bad. Most said it remained tacky which is the last thing you want. The Krylon is more expensive but got good reviews. Most patina modders bake the spraypaint as well but patina doesn't like to be painted on so you shouldn't have to, but it may make it more durable.Slice is a shiny pretty silver.
Oh my. Getting rid of the spot is enough for one day. My brain is exhausted. So out of my wheelhouse. Would love to take it in for etching when the spot is gone.I looked at the Patina Mods page for suggestions. I definitely want to keep the solid silver. Sure I can find someone to etch & coat it. Just have to decide what, maybe my avatar. It would be shiny forever...
