That's cuz my parental controls worked today! I have been busy, I have been editing, I am preparing for yoga, since the lure of the couch will not be available. LOL.

I think I might be the only human in existence to get all excited about parental controls (besides parents, to do to their kids). But, it's been working. LOL.

:Much awesome shininess. I have got to take a pic of my rainbow revenger (still loving it) in the right light (twilight) it totally glows (with my clock showing, obviously). :D

My cylon has not yet arrived, but I'm officially over shinyitis for now. I do have flavors coming but man, what a deal. I hope they're all not near their expiry date but at that price.... Hard to resist... LOL.

Anna
the cylon...give it another 11 days...if it hasn't arrived i'll send you mine...postage will be cheaper as i'll be in the big place above the usofa.

TFA dragon fruit is my go to
Cap french van is the only one I have and am pleased with it (not a big fan of vanilla as a front note)
INW shisha SB & TFA SB ripe make a good SB imo.
I don't do a lot of creams/custards, I like HS cream for a plain creamy note.
INW custard is recommended often.

Found this the other day on VU, might make a nice base to work off of. Huge thread, Squonk came up with this.
INW custard 2%
INW vanilla classic 2%
FA fresh cream 1%
You're awesome! Thanks!

I have a shinitis itch and I can’t find what is going to cure it. Some awesome mods, but one thing or another about each one is a negative for me. Maybe it’s not the mod I need... maybe the powers that be are telling me to stop being such a mule and give in and learn to build coils. Honestly, I find the thought quite intimidating. Too many tank choices, too many opportunities to get it wrong... everyone seems to like a different tank and build style. Overwhelmed. That’s how it makes me feel

I was the same way, building scared me. I chuckle now when I remember how nervous I was wrapping and using my first coil. Ridiculously simple really. The trick is wicking and coil placement, that just comes with trial and error. It just tastes so much better. We are all here if you decide to jump, don't worry we'll catch you.

i've not looked back since starting to wind coils. got the coilmaster kit first and that was great. now i don't need it. anything round will do. started with cotton bacon for wicking with an OBS crius II (i think). slipped up a couple of times but every slip taught me something. now use stainless steel (316L 26 AWG) for wire almost exclusively and rayon for wicking.
can't recommend it highly enough. much help around here if you need it. get a reasonably priced RDA or RTA and go for it. all for the price of 10 pre-built tank coils. you'll get there.

So how did you even manage to start to vape? ;)
Not even close to as many choices when she started. I understand why the newbs are so overwhelmed. So much info out nowadays and much of it conflicting.

I was really overwhelmed when I started building but I found the best way was to just jump in and do it. It was partially motivated by the fear of deeming JUST as I was starting to vape and learn about it, I was all like, "I need to get self sufficient quickly."

I made a few purchasing errors along the way, and I really had a "thrilling" not always in a good way, mind you, type of time. But, for me it was worth it to be able to know that I could in fact, vape through whatever the FDA threw my way.

With that said, I had a fine motor tremor and that made things harder, but I can safely say I have enough wire and wick and RTAs that I like and can use now, and that is a nice feeling. There will always be a place in my heart for some drop in tanks, and I really prefer them for out and about.

But, yes, maybe it is time to start building, we will all help! You can do it, if you want to? Do you? It made my life a lot more interesting as I was learning, and in the end I got there. You'll get lots of help if you merely announce your "desire" I'm quite sure. But I am exceedingly glad I know how to build and how to DIY, because it is also fun (if not immediately, then some place along the road and etc.)

Now, if I could only get my bedding evenly situated in my washing machine so the spin cycle would finish. That's seeming hard at the moment. There are things much harder than building that you probably do.... that you will realize once you start the process..

Damn bedding. LOL.

@Letitia I am a big fan of cream and custard. Especially creamy tobacco. I have a feeling this base is gonna end up in everything lol. I got Purilum sweet tobacco ordered along with plum and apple. This is definitely going in with it. I am going to slowly build my selections up again. It's time to start having fun with DIY again.

Welllll...In the dark ages, we had cigalikes. Then the clouds parted and the vape gods gave us clearomizers and egos. And we were amazed at how much better they were. When ego twists and vivi nova tanks with (gasp) changeable coils came out, we gave burnt offerings at the altar.. Then, the provaris and the nautilus. After that, I bought one of every mod and tank that came out, but refused to learn to build coils because In The Beginning, that was for cloud chunking twenty somethings. And, I’m lazy. But, y’all already know that

I sometimes think I'm lazy. But, I'm really not. What I actually am is risk averse to learning new things that I feel might be difficult. Also, it's easy to procrastinate in certain areas (for me). I'm going to bet you aren't actually lazy.... Just perhaps risk averse to what you feel it "may" take for you to get to RTAs.

But we still don't know what the FDA is going to do, and my version of hell is vaping on a closed pod system filled with menthol or tobacco flavors. It really is.

Some people take to RTAs like duck to water, seriously. For me, it was a bit harder than that but overall, rewarding in the end.

I'd think step one would be to ask about an RTA that feels "in your wheelhouse" for vaping, probably a single coil, and getting a coilmaster's kit. If you don't want to commit to that, you can get premade wires, a set of screwdrivers, and some wicking material (I say rayon, that was my magic wick, but not everyone says that) and a decent youtube tutorial for whatever RTA/RBA you decide on.

If you break it into steps... Much easier, I think.

Heading off to shop (aka research). Is there everything I need in the in the coilmaster kit?

At least you got it narrowed down to the best devices under $150. Whichever one you choose you can't go wrong. With coil building and DIY i think once you started you would never look back. You would be able to tailor everything exactly to your needs. You have definitely found the right place to learn about all of the above.

Many on VU mix that Custard recipe up in large amounts for steeping. Good enough in 2 weeks and just keeps getting better. If you like it for a base mix up 240ml and peel off as needed to add a fruit to for a snv or a change of pace. I was thinking it would be good for a mellow caramel apple or raspberry custard.
