That is a good idea. Ihave had regulated devices last for years with a lot of use. Mechanical mods have a steep learning curve. Things can go wrong and when they do it is not good. If you want to get one I personally would suggest a single battery tube (lots on clearance for about $20) or a parallel box (which are usually pretty pricey). Those operate at 4.2 down to 3.2 volts. If you get one with a normal 510 with a pin, you can use it with any topper safely and within the power range you like. Just looking out for ya.
Honestly, I’ll probably just add 2-3 more dna mods. And maybe another DB. Vape check them for a couple months, then box them for backups. I still have 24 mods ( without counting the two Picos so as to not upset JFC )... certainly that should last me long enough.

Except Liion batteries degrade over time, if you use them or not.
But fear not, I'm working on a diesel based mod
1.0
not a VW diesel though

you should reconsider. if it's a VW it will be able to get by any federal regs. at least until it gets caught

I think you are good to go. I can get authentic mechs for $20 at my B&M. 22mm rdas are $15. I have been buying them out slowly. The new regulated devices are very well made and powerful enough to render mechs obsolete. In fact mechmods were dying out but are now making a comeback. I see this as kind of a bad thing. Quite often new people were buying hybrid mechs, not knowing how to properly use them and venting batteries.
