I am still confused why they are calling this mod a dna 250 C. With only two batteries how are you going to get 250 watts? Surely it should be a dna 166 C at the most.
That's the name released for the fda guideline.
They are capable of configuration between 2 to 4 batteries each with a different wattage.

@NolaMel As far as mechanicals go...I think you would love the Pulse & Rabbit SQ combo I have. Single coil rda can be set up for mtl, easy to build on. Pulse is a well made safe mechanical squonk box. 20700 has more amps then you will ever need, and enough mah to last a whole day at 1+ ohms.

Because it has a DNA250c board in it, durr ;)

Nobody said you'll get 250W out of 2 batteries, it's just the name of the board.
On the DNA 250 if it was throttled down they called it a DNA 200 or DNA 166. Just seems strange to over state the performance for Evolv.

aegis cancelled (heard talk of a dual battery version, yes?).
ijoy captain PD270 ordered (2 x 20700!).
I have a PoS Captain PD270, and it works in power mode... I bought it for one of my Aromamizer Plus' to do a little TC with, it's a decent looking mod that will take a 30mm tank. I was never expecting DNA or YiHi performance from the start, just a working TC.

I had posts deleted from the iJoy FB group for trying to get them to fix the firmware on this junk. We had a thread here on ECF, a proper outline was compiled of all it's issue's and that was submitted to iJoy. You might just as well be talking to the wall. The only thing they fixed was it's ability to properly read resistance, what a concept.

So completely forget about TC even basically functioning.

1. The TCR values only go to 200 so no NiFe wire can be used.
2. Setting up the custom M1 or M2 mode values will be lost when you remove the batteries for charging, the mod will reset back to VW mode.
3. Putting the batteries in backwards has caused a number of boards to short out, burning the RPP (Reverse Polarity Protection) circuitry. Just be careful when you put them in.
4. It can and will charge the batteries in a unbalanced state, external charger is a must.
5. Not TC related, my Gunmetal finish started to wear off the first week.

The best I leave for last...
If the mod doesn't like the TCR value of the coil it will fire at FULL power instead of throwing a TCR error or dropping out of TC to a 20W VW mode like any other mod does. You have absolutely no way to fine tune a TC build because of this, one second it appears to work then the next it's burnt out the coil.

You can experience this yourself by putting on any atty, TC wire or not. Select a TC mode, it doesn't matter which one. Set the wattage to 5W and the temperature to 300F, there is not a mod out there that would create any kind of vape with those setting. Now, hit the fire button and enjoy the sweet feature iJoy has programmed in the Captain... Hopefully you are using a build that will handle 150+ watts. ;)

This is not iJoy's first rodeo, they should have be able to program a somewhat functional TC.

The iJoy FB group is a waste of time, it is administrated by a hand check/clouds bro idiot who didn't like the inquiries I made about them fixing the firmware... :glare:

Just giving you a heads up as to what to expect with the iJoy Captain. :2c:

Yeah always had a funny feeling about ijoy, seems my tingle-sense is on point (sometimes).
Their designs and frequency of device release remind me a lot of another company I'm staying the hell away from.
Hmmmm, can’t imagine what company THAT is ;)

FT sent a non-anniversary Steam Crave t-shirt with my shiny new anniversary edition Aromamizer 2. Oh well. The Anniversary Edition shirt's back looks like an advertising billboard so I'm fine with that.

I'm just wasting time waiting for a few call-backs so it's been a Hip day.

Excellent, the only thing these companies understand is people NOT buying their substandard products. I guess Smok will never see that because people seem to LOVE their gear for some reason...

I waffle between thinking I need at least one mech in the stable, and facing stark reality it’s probably not a good idea for me. Squonk is still on the table.
both can be had for very little $. an excellent SMPL clone can be had for $14 but use the right RDA (protruding positive pin) and a squonk? maybe this. just a couple of wee suggestions. research. there's no better place to do it than here.

oh and i reordered the aegis...i truly am an idiot
There is a dual battery Aegis on the Horizon.

The Aegis is a good mod, I love mine but you need to build for the mod and not the atty if you want any decent battery life. Horses for Courses, it is a single cell mod.

Bubbles is an epic cat for sure.

Westwind might be my favorite live performance of all time. I grew up a mile from the Wonder Bread factory so I can relate (see the Family Guy Millennium episode).
Pre-Katrina BTW - also the best Ahead By A Century lyrics OAT
