Good morning shiny folk. I have seen NO insects since yesterday. Also, that may have been at the expense of some HEALTH. And, I UNDER-did it I swear, and followed EVERY precaution. Seriously I could not be more wrapped up than I was and I did everything the packaging said.
I think I might be slightly, uh, part bug. I got these weird trembly jerk things happen and also puked. You'd think if I were part bug I'd be immune to recluse bites but NOOOO....
I was somewhat concerned and looked up what happened if you got a boric acid poisoning AFTER I had those weird things happen. It sure seemed like it and I don't think it was psychosomatic because my googling came afterwards. Since I'd already done the "at home remedies," bathe etc., well I just decided to see how it went. I didn't feel great, but I didn't die either.
Win, I suppose. But, I better not see bug for a while, and I'm wearing a hazmat suit next time.

Does penicillin even work anymore? If it's Chicago, I might not look OUT for its return.
Although I will say the "big bad black Chicago principal" that came to my son's school was a bit over optimistic in his 'handling" of kiddo gangs here. He really had no clue. Right BEFORE I pulled my kid, I gave him a rather large lecture on gang families here and what can and cannot be "addressed" in the school system, also pointing out that the kids AND their parents (it can be a generational thing) would EAT him as soon as look at him.
Shortly after his ah, tenure (and after I pulled my kid did not want him to die, LOL) they had 3 police cars stationed at that school. Things got bad, fast.
I did enjoy giving him a piece of my mind, I know Chicago is supposed to be Oh So Tough, but like, after doing East Baltimore gang treatment for a while, I really found it a LOT easier than around here. LOLZ border towns.
I'm not sure the dude lasted, but he had NO CLUE how to handle Tucson native kiddos. LOL.

BORIC ACID WORKING!!! LOL, my husband found a dead palmetto bug (COCKROACH is what it really is) near our back door.

I worked at Hopkins Methadone clinic when I was about 25. I was the only white group therapist .They hazed me to hell and back, but I don't play fair. When I was trying to find out some dude's name he told me I could call him "Pimp daddy." Straight faced, I immediately responded, "Well, you sound like someone with a PO, I can certainly get your name from your individual therapist, and let your PO know you are trying to pimp a therapist out."
Ironically, he name was John, so I snorted and said, "Well, sounds like if anything, I'd be taking your money, not mine." LOL.
They finally gave up after two folks wanted to have a "fight" in my group. LOL there were guards armed with tasers but they were far away. I was fond of both those gentlemen and if they fought, they would have been expelled from the program and I knew they were just having a moment. So, like a wack-a-mole, I jumped between them waving my arms in air, yelling, "Yeah, you want to hit someone? You'll have to go through ME, and that's an automatic legal charge, you want to go back to jail? DO IT! I don't give a (many curse words). "
LOL, the two gentlemen backed away from the crazy white chick in pigtails, but I never had a moments trouble after that. I kind of miss that job, but the husband demanded I quit for the kid, after an actual college student got murdered. I left reluctantly..
But, most places I wander around, well, if you just act like you aren't scared, (and I generally am impulsive enough not to be) and aren't scared, 99.9% of the predators around just aren't really that interested, they want a les vocal, more biddable type of person. Don't know how that works for a dude, but I read a great book called, "The gift of Fear" and it taught me a lot about self sufficiency.
