I have made the decision to move back to Georgia (oh NO) to be near my daughter and grandchildren. I gave her my answer yesterday. I will leave my beloved California behind (again) to be near my family. My daughter was born here but I raised her half there(Georgia) half here (So Cal). She thinks of herself as a CA girl but now she has children, both fathers of her two are there in Georgia. Of course I tried, so hard to get her to come here but it is not possible. She cannot afford it. Does not want to take her children far from their fathers. I will go back to the place I ran from a year ago in order to be a support to her and to be near family. I HATE the humidity, I hate not being near the beach (surfer girl at heart) and I am not crazy about the unlike mindedness of the peeps. I am waiting until the brutal summer in the south is over. I have to leave the house I was raised in, the only house I knew my mother to ever be in. It is going to emotional for sure.

Aaargh, my vape mail carrier has betrayed me. My new squonk was out for delivery yesterday but it turned out to be a lie! Now it says available for pick up. What, did it slip between the seats in the mail truck or something? Pfft. In better news, Cloud Chemist sent me a bunch of free juice to make up for a billing issue on my last order so it's not all bad :D Also puppies.

Betting the pros will outweigh the cons once you are there. CA probably won't fall into the ocean during your lifetime so you can always go back.

Eagerly waiting for pictures.
Well, I was referring to the puppies on the last page but here's a bonus puppy for the cause.

You can never have too many puppies.

I know but not with the SCORE I have now. Childhood home and due to CA Prop's I have the property taxes my mom had in 1973. $700 a year.
There are some PROS, I will pay cash for a home with a TWO car garage, laundry ROOM and more room to foster animals. All of my insurances will go down. Home, auto and health. I will be near family in case I get senile, (my daughter can stick me in her basement, sport all my expensive purses and spend my money) while I never know because I am senile. The other PROS is there is bound to be another earthquake here, we are overdue. CA is so very overcrowded and the traffic is a burden, my skin is not so dry in the horrid humidity.

Are you going to keep the CA house? Good income possibly there.

If ever I knew a dog I’d have duplicates of, this one is it. She was all the fun a puppy can be (still is!) but none of the hassle. She potty trained, literally, in a day. I showed, I praised, she got it. She would do something naughty one tome - chew a shoe, get into trash- and once told no, never did it again.

And she got it, that if I said no to the shoe, no applied to all my other stuff, as well. She is just so eager to please, and so perceptive. She was a natural with babies, keeps just enough distance, so very gentle. If they grab an ear or pinch, she just takes it. Tough as nails, too. Crashes around like a bull and sprained her knee, cuts up her face, gets stung by a wasp on her lip, and she’s like “I’m okay, no big deal!”

If it weren’t so involved, I’d have loved to have her pups, but I just couldn’t put her through it, and I can’t afford a whole house full of them, as much fun as that would be.

I will consider having another Frenchie someday though. If I find another this healthy.
We bred our lab to another equally papered field trial/hunt trial champion when the girls were in 8th/10th/senior year of high school. It was awesome, very expensive and exceptionally tiring. I’m glad I did it, but won’t do it again. We kept one puppy ( he’s the one on the far left). Zoey is @80 pounds, smart, incredibly soft fur, calm, well mannered. Her goofy son is a lean 105 pound bundle of energetic, enthusiastic love. He is the light of my heart, but sooooo different from his mom. The picture is of my daughter in her swimsuit “teaching” them about water. (She couldn’t get them to stay in the baby pool in the yard ).

Tough choice to make, I’m sure. I hope it works out well for you. I don’t like where I live at all, but I’ll take being close to family in a place I hate over paradise alone.

I keep seeing the smoant charon being recommended a lot sooooooooo I decided I had to check it out for myself. Lol! On its way! I like the shape. Looks similar to the Revenger series which is an incredibly comfortable mod to hold. It’s actually the most comfortable and natural feeling mod I own. I like the Therions & Paranormal but to me they’re just not as a natural fit in my hand. The Yihi q mini is a good fit but I prefer a centered tank.

Aww! Adorable! But I know what you mean, you can’t count on the offspring being like the parents. We raised Elkhounds when I was a kid, every one had its own personality.

Frenchies don’t seem like that though. To love one is to love them all. If one person, in the Frenchie group, says their dog acts a certain way, everyone says theirs does too. Some are more sweet, more sassy, more lazy than others, but there just doesn’t seem to be many other variables.

I moved to Louisiana, where my hubs is from. As an only child with a widowed mother in her 80’s, I can’t begin to tell you how hard it is having her 5 hours away. If there’s something I need to help with, it means going there for a week ( 9 weeks when she had her knee replacement) at least. The older we both get, the harder it is. @chanelvaps, being close to your daughter will be a blessing in the end.

Smoant are the only mods we have never had any problems with or returns. Can't say the same for the trash from Smok, and for some strange reason people really want their junk...

Did you get the gold flaming skull one? ;)

How complicated is it to update?
Very Easy.

I don’t know, gave mine to my cousin and she likes the ts. @TrollDragon was talking about it with someone the other day. Maybe he'll pop in and help.

Here are the instructions and attachment I put together for @chanelvaps since Asmodus stupidly put the updater program inside a RAR file with the first firmware release...

I forgot that you need the Updater 1.1 file out of the V36 update which is in RAR format.

What I have done is package both the updater and the V40 firmware in a self extracting file for you. It's an EXE file but it is safe as I just created it.
Minikin V2-V40 Upgrade.exe

Download the file and run it, it will create a folder where you ran it from called "Minikin V2-V40 Upgrade".

Inside that folder you will find two files: HW718V40(20171008).firmware & UpgradeV1.1.exe, just follow the Asmodus directions from there.

  1. Open the UpgradeV1.1.exe to install the upgrading program.
  2. Once the program is installed a window will pop up called "ASMODUS Upgrade Tool V1.1"; this is the program which will perform the upgrade.
  3. Remove the batteries from your Minikin 2. With the batteries removed from the device, hold the fire button down and plug in the USB. The screen will state "Download Mode".
  4. Click connect on the ASMODUS Upgrade Tool.
  5. Click file and select the firmware update. This is the other file that was downloaded.
  6. Click upgrade on the ASMODUS Upgrade Tool.
  7. When the update is complete, a pop up will state "Upgrade Complete!" and the screen on the Minikin 2 will state "Update Ok".
Unplug the USB & reinstall you batteries, answer Yes to the Married/UnDamaged Pair question and you are good to go.

I am amazed at the quality and durability of my first Smoant. A Cylon. Bought it to hold a 30mm tank. Very happy with it. I bought one SMOK, an Alien and hated it. Gave it to my daughter
