ARGH the husband just shot a rattlesnake! (With a pellet gun those things are useful! LOL).

Man, though, like I walk out there BAREFOOT all the time. Not that it would make much difference, LOL.

Personal goals for today: Get things cleaned organized and freaking IRONED.

BUILD another doggy style and put it on my proton. If I do, I will post pics. LOL.

ALSO, maybe some testers (getting optimistic here). But still, I may. LOL.

Email and text a few folks and catch up.

Can do it I THINK. Heh.

Anna
Nope. I don't go into the desert without jeans and my Dr. Martens. We have Mojave Greens around here.

Yep. Rural South Tucson Sucks.

I lived in Syndey for a few years and was out in the wilderness (okay albeit mostly on a horse heh) but GOD.

Tucson: Bit by 3 brown recluses, one dog bit by rattlesnakes 4 times, another once. Got bit by scorpion ONCE. God, it HURTS, BTW Saw (or rather heard first going WHUT is that noise, I was smoking in the hammock chair I think) and ran inside screaming "SNAKE SNAKE SNAKE!" (The husband killed it too). Also, saw a (small brown those HURT) scorpion swimming in my SHOWER (only the fact that I had JUST asked the husband to unclog the drain saved me).

Saw a few too many gigantic flying cockroaches in the bathroom (they were coming in through THE DRAINS) and also the last recluse I lost my mind and told the husband to CLOSE up the house, even if it killed him, LOL, and then I BORIC ACIDED the heck out of the house (got boric acid poisoning a bit actually IT WAS SO WORTH IT) and made the husband check all the pipes for points of entry.

So far, everything I've found has been dead. LOL. It's so much better that way. But we live on an acre of desert, sometimes there isn't just much you can do honestly, and the coyotes come in all the time. Also at one point (the underside of the house was completely open at this point) a PACKRAT was coming in and EATING my jolly ranchers. I didn't find this out the first day so like, for a while me and the packrat were sharing. I really sort of came to admire its enterprising spirit in a way, because it took the husband MONTHS to find and kill it/kill them all I'm not sure.

The only friendly thing around here are BUNNIES! I love them! They probably attract snakes, I'm sure, but I put them on a FIRM "Do not kill order" LOL, I mean, they're the only nice friendly wildlife I SEE around here, ever.

LOL, you should see me approach the sheds. It is with extreme caution and a HUGE amount of noise.

But, gotta say, I think you just get used to it. I'm glad I don't have scars really because the recluse bites were on my face. LOL. As I was sleeping. I paid great care with the boric acid to the windows next to my bed.

I'mma gonna do it again in 6 months only I will be wearing a hazmat suit because I followed ALL their precautions and still got the twitches and threw up.

Tucson... Yeah you'd think we'd move but I'm actually fairly happy. NOW.

LOL.

Anna
We were on the less developed side of BC for a while. Crazy wildlife out there. Honestly I was happy to move back into the big city. Do miss the rams and rabbits and quails.one day we had a random chicken on our porch (no idea where it came from). Spiderssnakes and those evil little white scorpions, no thanks.

Oh yeah We did get a couple of those giant roaches. They are huge! Killed one with bug spray and put a lighter next to it for size reference. It was an inch longer than a big Bic lighter. Got the creeps just thinking about it.

I accomplished a lot of stress today, not much else.

LOL iffn I weren't scared going outside first thing in the a.m. wouldn't get me smoking I would just do THAT for the next few days.

Well nothing bit me.

LOL, one time I was home ALONE with the giant flying cockroach I KILLED it but only because I was like, "That thing and me cannot coexist until the husband comes home and if I move, he won't know were."

It was.... Unpleasant. I totally believe those things would beat me in a nuclear winter, but I ALSO believe I'm better looking.

Not boasting either..... It's not exactly HARD.

Do you ever wonder what they're thinking as they SIT there all defiantly with their antenna's twitching? Yeah me neither.

That reminds me of my mother. She stepped on a mouse barefoot in the kitchen and crushed it! It was that or let it go to destroy the pantry.

I did that one time with a frog. Drunk. In the dark. It wasn't so much I didn't want it to destroy the dang pantry, I didn't notice. I will kindly not take ya'll through a mental reconstruction of what THAT was like, it just sucked.

I like mice actually TBH. I know they carry disease and stuff, but there was some Tense Negotiating there when some nested under the drip/grease catcher things in the stove at the initial ah, house of ill repute we bought.

The cockroach eggs.... I hired an exterminator every month for a YEAR. That I paid happily but the mouse equation was HARD. LOL.

I actually have a pic of me at 3 with a giant Madagascar cockroach crawling on my hand, at the Smithsonian, I was ALL into it. I used to be braver but then Life Happened. LOL.

Mice are cute as critters go, I think, but not in my house. It’s a thing here, everyone gets them especially in winter. That’s really one of the worst things for me since losing my husband. Man, I really miss having him to trap them. I feel so awful about it. It’s so gross too. But they gotta go or they destroy everything.

I had a visit from my lovely daughter today, neither of us felt like celebrating, so we just ate and swam and talked. It was really nice. She hasn’t been over in a while and she got a laugh out of my ‘vape shrine’.

I love the looks of those!!
I was surprised I liked the Aegis as much as I do. I was afraid it would be too bulky. It’s a bit big for some pants pockets, but indestructible if it hits the concrete. Waterproof too. It’s got great hand feel. The only negative I got out of the reviews was the screen is prone to scratches. MVS has them for around $40, so reasonable.

I had to stop by Wally world today for hot dog buns (my wife can never get the bun-to-weenie ratio right). I cut through the spice section and spotted some Watkins Almond Extract. "hmmm."

I'm gonna mix some tomorrow at about 3%, 5% and 8% and let'em sit for a week.

Ever since I got a bottle of chocolate coconut almond extract that failed to make a decent Almond Joy bar, I've kinda been on a mission.

We did ribs, baked beans, cole slaw and potato salad. Chilton county peach cobbler for dessert. We’ve done nothing but r&r. I mixed yesterday for some long steep juices. Tomorrow I’ll do a couple to take on vacation this weekend.
I have discovered the downside to bigger batteries... the 21700 takes freaking forever to charge! Not sure what amperage the efest charges at, but I’d be interested to know if there’s a quicker charger
