Morning Shiny's. Pleasant morning here as well. Making a ft order today, maybe another shiny is in my future if something catches my eye.
Morning all. We are expecting triple digits here in So Cal so I am off to walk the hound at the bike path before it gets to hot 
If we’re lucky! Christmas before last was 81*. I usually count on cold weather in January and February. For now I’m thankful for a/c, and the fact I don’t have to go outside for a stinky anymore.The heat wave in this part of the country will "break" around early November.
I don't miss the smell of stale tar in my car's AC system, I can tell ya that much.

With the heat being brutal for about a week I have suspended my sod replacement chore. Inside things are in order. First I will mop the whole darn house, tile and wood (I live with ANIMALS) and then might spend some time making jewelry and IF my NR order comes today I will try out a mix using the new Bavarian Cream from FA

Mixed for 2 hours already today and its only now 6am - I have productive insomnia
Mel: I used ss316l from day 1 in my rtas so I have nothing to compare them to - but it works fine in power mode

I started with kanthal.
Played with nickel and titanium for a bit.
Only use ss now.
Built a kanthal coil recently and ripped it out after 2 hits. Ss to me just taste cleaner I guess, seems like a taste the metal with kanthal now.

I got SS because all the mods- well lots of them anyway- are tc and I wanted the option. But they work in Power as well. I like it, it’s easy to work with. Not sure if there are other benefits.
Stainless doesn't oxidize like a ferrous alloy.
It has a lower initial resistance, so the same number of wraps at a given diameter will produce more energy.
Its resistance changes with temperature and produces no dangerous chemicals at high temps, making it the ideal wire for someone who uses power and TC modes.
Alloys with Iron in them need to form a carbon layer that works like the black surface of a cast iron skillet. Look ma... food don't stick. Until that initial layer is formed and becomes stable, wires with Iron don't taste so good. Neither does food from a virgin skillet.

I remember the only time I bought a new cast iron skillet, ugh. Seasoned it with bacon, onions, and garlic daily for a couple weeks before it was tolerable. After that I picked them up at yard/estate sales.
