Regulated squonk would be good for simplicity, as I said before the recurve mod has made a great work mod for me. If building accordingly, its great. However worth mentioning best performance is with a 21700, 30t or 40t depending on resistance.
Purchasing something in that price range (batteries aside) will leave a good bit for the other stuff.
Did you try it out to know if you like the button. Might help you decide how to proceed.
