I didn’t call today, have to do that tomorrow. It’s just been the kind of day when everything went sideways. The cracked mod, then fraudulent charges on my charge card, then the mini mi I was supposed to get 3 pods, they only sent 2. And the family was texting me the whole time I was trying to report on the credit card - about my mom.

So I tried to call her but her phone was busy. I bundled up and went to check on her. Her phone was off the hook, but otherwise she’s okay. Alzheimer’s is the pits. She was mostly coherent today though.

Then I tried to email about that missing pod and my email said my account was invalid. I just NOW got that fixed. Don’t even know what happened or how I fixed it, but it’s working.

And Asmodus was supposed to send me a Galatek for sending the last mod back, but they didn’t. Ugh. I’m putting the dogs out for a last pee, then I’m going to bed before anything else can screw up in my world!

I guess the bright side is, I won’t have a credit card for a week. That ought to save me a few bucks!

What a crappy day! Hope things go better today!

cthulhu are changing their logo to a cute cartoon octopus (w*f). i don't know what's going on with that and i may need to book a flight east to have a word. in the meantime i'm snapping this up before the end in case my protestations are unsuccessful.

That's the thing. I think if you're coming from a tank, drop in coils, or RDAs where you use pretty mild builds the increased surface area makes it seem like the second coming.

But compared to a good RDA with a high surface area build, like a multicore clapton, stapled clapton, ribbon, or something like that, it's nothing special.

You get the downsides from squonking that were mentioned above for no additional performance. Dripping it's alright, but otherwise it's just a run of the mill RDA.

In my opinion anyways. Which depending on where you post or who reads it, you may not be allowed to have.

But there are comprises to everything. Sure very little effort is needed to squonk the B2K as an example – but given the small amount of wick means you are squonking more often. With the Profile, more effort is needed to squonk but that amount of wick holds quite a bit of juice so the frequency at which you sqounk is less. Perhaps one action has more value to a user than another.

I only use multi core and ribbon Claptons with my coil type RDA’s – I wouldn’t say the mesh is better or worse, just different. Those differences could have value to end user. With all my builds my objective is to maximize surface area while trying to keep mass within a respectable zone. I subjectively feel surface area contributes to flavour and we all know the effect mass has on a coil. So I can reach my build objectives more efficiently with mesh than I can with a typical Clapton type coil. To me, this holds value – to someone else, perhaps it does not.

Morning shinies :)

What is your recipe? I'm a mint vanilla addict ;)

2% TFA French vanilla II
2% TFA Signature peppermint
1% TFA vanilla bean ice cream
1% TFA sweet cream
.5% cap super sweet
.5% TFA marshmallow

Note that I use the signature peppermint, not their regular line which is a lot stronger. It still comes out like a cross between a white Tic Tac and an Altoid.

I like my wicks to be dripping wet. I find them a lot more flavourful. It's easier to achieve with a traditional RDA and part of that is why I like it better.

I'm not a huge fan of dripping or using something like a dead rabbit to drip because the wicks are always wet, but never absolutely soaked.

Someone else mentioned you need to vape the profile at lower wattage. I've been vaping mine at 55-60W for the last 400 or so puffs i've taken on my mod. I agree, it needs less power, but that doesn't really add any value to the way I vape. Right now my X217 is showing 3.25V @ 55W. I'd never be able to get a similar vape from my mechs, which rules out using it with most of my collection, and more importantly my favourite parts of my collection. I usually build all my coils to be ideal in the 3.7-3.9ish range so I can swap them between mods.

I get it. I don't like this thing. Every time I write that I don't I get paragraphs of explanations telling me why i'm using it wrong, why i'm wrong, or why it's good. I understand the arguments but for my usage, it isn't anything more than average at best.

I’m not arguing - I can never debate your preferences over mine or anyone else’s. I am pointing out the differences between 2 subjects for the sake of conversation and informing others. Just stating something squonks poorly without going into detail as to why leaves a lot open to interpretation. By identifying why one RDA squonks differently than another gives those who maybe interested something to work on. Not only that, it may also give you a different perspective as to why it squonks so differently which could benefit you in the end.

I also know you like using mechs which is why I shared my experience with the Profile using a mech.

It really depends on who you talk to. I have the mesh pro and love it. @Spydro is the connoisseur as he uses about 5 of them (profiles) on a regular basis :)

 Well, I am a very serious aficionado of them anyway.

My mesh RDA count in hand is currently at 21 of them... I have 9 Profiles, 9 Digiflavor Mesh Pros and 3 VV Mesh RDA's. Currently 8 Profiles, 6 DMP's and 1 VVM are in use every day/night in my rotations. The 9th Profile, 2 more DMP's are on desk mods that are occasionally used when I work at it. So technically I have 18 of them on mods right now. But then I rarely vape anything but mesh RDA's on 18650 mech squonk, 18650 dual parallel mech squonk and 20X700 regulated squonk mods now days.

Favorite mech mods for the Profiles are some of my Reo P67's and DripTech DS's, or on any regulated squonk mod. Favorites for the DMP's are my Dovpo Topsides and Pico Squeeze 2's (but I have also dripped a couple of them on Sig 213 TC mods). The VVM is on a 26650 Athena Pride DNA 75 that is way too heavy to carry/use anywhere other than at the desk.

We got both overnight, so it was a sheet of ice this morning. Poor Rudy, I had to carry him out and back. It’s raining now, seems like it should melt it all off pretty soon.

All my weird hobbies with their Klingon languages... I was trying to reply to a knitting question in my sock group. Predictive text gave my stitches more flavor in DL weight yarn.
I hope you have a better day today, @DeloresRose.

Not enjoying current elevate setup either. worse things happen at sea etc.

Evening all,

Hope everyone has had a good day.

I've found my Elevate to be a bit hit and miss as well. Get the coiling/wicking right, and it is pretty decent IMO, get it wrong OTOH ... Luckily, I seem to get it more right than wrong.

My current favourite tank is the Kylin II. You could throw a sweaty sock in it and it would vape well. Simple coil, parallel coil, clapton - Cotton or Rayon, a great vape every time. It does occasionally throw its toys out its pram and give you a dry hit (Try venting with a rayon wick for some throat and lung ripping torture), but all in all, I'm really enjoying it.

The Wasp though, is my reference atty. I can't seem to get a bad vape out of that, no matter what I do. I haven't put anything heavy like a Clapton in it, sticking to 5-8 turn 3mm spaced coils. I don't fancy inviting plastic fumes. I know it whistles like a demented kettle, and it is very basic, but I've yet to discover a 22mm to beat it so far.

Just my :2c:.

i'm not getting a bad vape from the elevate (5/5.5mm leg cut seems best for me...not 6mm as wotofo suggest) but it just isn't...fulfilling...i suppose is the word. did get the gear nailed though. kylin II will be gotten at some point despite me saying i would never buy another vandy vape tank. the clone i bought was s***e and the council took it to the landfillofshame soon after.

There is not a Vandy Vape tank that's fit to use IMHO and a really slim selection of their RDA's are even usable.

There is only one I have ever felt the need to consider buying. The Kensei and that feeling passed rather quickly.

The only thing from them I've ever owned is the Pulse BF.
