This is true, but lets keep in mind that as the SS coil is rising in resistance it’s temperature is somewhat being maintained, for lack of better words. With time, a N80 or Kanthal coil will rise in temperature at a greater rate given their current draw is more consistent. The longer we hold the fire button the hotter the coil gets – up to a certain extent. With SS this rise in temperature will be more uniform given the current draw lowers as its resistance rises.

The coils mass also plays a major role in this, so it is not as black and white as described above.
For me a single SS coil on a mech was a horrible experience but then again I don't vape at 40W. So all my single coil RDAs live on dna mods with SS builds. The only SS I run these days on a mech are dual fused at 0.11Ω, as the coil gets hot the resistance slides quite nicely into a reasonable range for the battery.

I just thought I'd mention about the SS wire to @Fidola13 since it's her first mech, If you have any good build suggestions then I imagine she would be all ears.

I built the Dwarv DL clone rta just for you guys. I couldn’t get fused or regular Clapton’s in the post & the hex screws to hold. So I ended up using ss316 24g single wire 5 wraps. Finally got it to hold. I get to use the many spools of 24g wire I have so that’s good.

Flavor is awesome I left the af insert it came with it in. It comes with 3 additional af inserts.

This is the one I got from FT $11.81 Dvarw DL V3 Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 6ml / 316 stainless steel / 24mm diameter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I haven’t used plain single wire in a long time & with the Dwarv the flavor is awesome!
Thank you. Still looking for a compatible glass tube but may order anyway. I do have a couple juices that don't require glass.

Really shiny, almost blinding lol.
Only about 1300 more to complete the 1st round of upgrades.
Dont tell her how much I'm spending lmao. However if I do tell her I doubt she will say anything about vape purchases later lol.

All I use is SS wire in both mechanical and regulated mods. I usually build single at about the .18 range and I don't have any problems with resistance rising. If it ends up in the .25 neighborhood, that's still quite warm enough for my tastes. I feel it fires quick but doesn't get too hot. SS is the only wire I have found that I am not allergic to.

I am afraid to even start messing with my car. I don't think my wife would appreciate how fast it is when we're living in it...

I think it was a good fact to be brought up – in the end it’s entirely what suits the users vaping style. Looking at some of the comments here on ECF we can see there are many who prefer SS on a unregulated device and many who don’t. I’m kinda on the fence with it for I feel the initial resistance and the mass of the coil is more of a contribution than the slight change in resistance once the coil heats up.

I think to a new user with unregulated devices there will be a bit of trial and error in finding what works best for them. I know it took me a few builds to settle into something I enjoy.

In another thread I suggest to @Fidola13 to use the batteries nominal voltage as a guidance for building a coil. This of course assumes the full battery voltage does not exceed any limits. But modeling a coil around 4.2 volts means we are only at our preferred output for a very short duration of time. Using a nominal voltage, which is usually 3.6 volts, we are in a sweet spot for a longer duration. But I trust she will find something that works.

Has anyone here bought anything from mahbattery.com? It's not on Mooch's list of reliable battery purveyors, but I can get something else I want there and need to bulk up my order with a couple of batteries.
Not familiar with them, what are you ordering?

Efun are tormenting me. After 4 days my Aegis Mini order showed as complete on their site and it showed up on USPS as awaiting package. Now it's been another 5 days and nothing happened. Maybe they open the USPS postage as soon as they get the order ready in China but it still has to make it's way over here.

Did order some batteries this morning. My oldest batteries were 3 years old and not lasting too long. I bet they beat the Aegis here.
When I ordered mine , it gave a Usps tracking number, which didn’t show on Usps until they logged it for pickup from their California warehouse. From order to delivery took two weeks. Between China and awaiting pickup it was crickets. Made me a tad nervous until I figured out what they were doing

Mine gathers dust too after the Juggernaut.
I love the af but that deck...flavor just wasn't good enough. Loving my minis, have a clone that should deliver this week. We'll see if it compares to the OG. Supposedly very good, fingers crossed.
