heartbreaking story. I probably would have had the dog wakened so I could cry over it for awhile. I am so attached to my animals and when I lose one I lose my mind for awhile. I worked for years in mental health and also fostered many animals. I happened to have a foster kitten that I found in the bushes in the back yard. Very young. Very sick, with upper respiratory and drippy eyes etc. I nursed him to good health and he was thriving. I was just getting ready to re-home him when he took a bad turn. Throwing up, getting skinny, we went to the emergency animal clinic like 3 times in a week, I was just writing checks left and right because once I was in I was IN. He started to need hydrating, I would drop him on my way to work, pick him up on the way back. They called me while I was at work and told me it was not any of the things they had thought but was in fact Panleukopenia (feline distemper) and he was gasping for breath. I agreed to let them put him down and then had a meltdown 5 minutes before a treatment team meeting that included the director and the psychiatrist at a clinic. Of course I sobbed through the whole meeting and end result was they sent me to "supervision" (where you go if they feel you might not be doing good because in mental health it is imperative that you do no harm) in other words they thought I was having a nervous breakdown. Even though I kept saying "I had to have a kitten euthanized" nobody understood and even said things to me like "it is just a cat, nobody acts this way over a cat."
I later realized this is why the tiny kitten was abandoned in the woods and no mother was around. The mother cat will do that if she suspects one is ill to keep it from getting the others sick.

I've had my meltdowns over pets before. It's always a terrible loss. You just try and make the best decisions you can, sometimes they're the decisions that are tougher on you. With all the love and joy they bring into our lives they earned our tears as they move on to wherever cats and dogs go for eternal love.

I gave in to getting pet insurance after spending $10s of thousands over the years and a specific event 3 summers ago.

So now I spay $200 a month to cover 2 dogs and a cat. But it works. We almost lost Levi last summer to a pulmonary embolism from hypertension. His little vacation was close to $5. The insurance covered 80% after a $200 yearly deductible.

I’m can breathe a little bit easier knowing I have it. If or when there’s another big event it can be handled.

thank you. My dog has allergies and I went to the third vet in 3 years for help. This one was wonderful. I mean he got down and dirty with an exam, smelled her breath, looked at her privates, skin samples, etc. I have always done what the other vets said to do, special shampoo, salmon oil with tons of EPA and DHA (?) (something else), a very expensive pill daily that costs me $80-85 a month, etc etc.
There would be some relief for awhile, especially with the pill but itchiness would always return and sometimes she is literally crying. Chewing her paws, licking her privates, shaking her head (ears) she just seems miserable.
We have a game plan that included a shot of a new medicine, another shot in 30 days. Ditch the expensive pill in a week so we can see if the shot works. (I just bought 100 of the pills too for the mind blowing cost of $275, because sometimes it is as high a $3.00 a pill so when I see it lower (Chewy) I buy a lot of it. (wonder if I can sell it on Ebay? LOL.
She has an extra piece of skin, like a flap over her Va JJ and it is causing urine to sit there and then causing a urine burn which then makes her lick constantly and then the area stays moist and gets yeast...he actually said I am maintaining her very well because most dogs with her allergies have worse problems because they are not cared for well.
The surgery is to remove the flap. He did not give me a price. We are trying something else first and that something is something I never thought I would do...I have special wipes ($29 worth) that I will use to wipe her, at first, every time she pees, after 3 days, once a day, most likely at night. OMG! I have a new ear rinse for her ears and I will do it twice a week instead of once a week and also keep her ear hairs shorter. Thankfully I am retired as this sounds like a full time job.
She has a wonderful mommy! Hopefully the new vet will find a solution

I got awesome vapemail today :

    tips2.jpg

After making a smartass comment about not having a bucket of drip tips like @DPLongo22 's ;) - he, along with @Katdarling went through their collections to find zenith tank drip tips - which I have a fixation with

They then mailed them, all the way to me in NZ  And refused to let me pay for the postage

    I got them today :D

To two very generous vapers - thank you

I'll be honest I can't figure out what all needs to be purchased to make it work...

I think that's important to know. What makes it work?

Then, what add-ons might be an improvement? And what's the cost benefit analysis of those add ons?

This knowledge might be helpful for anyone seeking to purchase a BB..
Back when I got my BB, you could use cartomizers or a Billet Bridge (for Aspire BVCs). There was also the Sabot (for ARO coils), but not many of those were ever made.

I've never moved on from those 3 things. And, you don't have to either. It just depends on what you want. Of course, I'm MTL all the way. So that makes a big difference.

This thing has a well big enough to put a dead body in it. Not that I advise that. Easy to build except I had to take the coil back out to trim so it didn’t short on the cap. Vapes nice, more air than the recurve. Bonus points for the sassy Cyberman face. Minus one matchy point for the gold base View attachment 805983
That's a cool atty. I like the little ring of gold.
