Morning all. I’ve not caught up on anything yet. I woke up too early again, and took the dogs out. Sitting on the porch while they did their business, suddenly there’s a horrific smell. Unlike anything I’ve ever smelled.

So I called the dogs and we went int. Georgia’ eyes were watering so hard it looked like she was crying. She vomited foam.

I was scared to death. She seems okay now. But the whole house stinks so bad I’m nauseous.

In familiar with a lot of smells, fuels, lubricants, pesticides, etc.

This smells chemical. But I’m not familiar with any chemical with such a strong odor. It’s powerful, like skunk spray.

I just gave her a bath which seemed to help some. I’m going to shower also. Don’t know what I need to do to de-stink this house though.

No, no plants like that. Loads of farms, could’ve been some sort of farm accident but we were up before the farmers today. There’s a factory but it’s down wind of me, and it’s a machine shop.

Not a thing was moving out there. A car went by, after it happened, but that’s it.

I’m gonna ask around and see if anyone knows anything.

If there's no factory then it must be caused by a neighbour or some such... Have you tried calling the local PD yet? They might have some info..

I gave her a bath and she’s eating, seems fine. As for eating something out of the ordinary, she’d have to get really creative lol. Girl will eat anything that fits in her pie hole.

The cops and locals know nothing.

I think, since this didn’t outright kill us, we’ll be okay. I just hope the stench fades, and I never have to smell that again. Yikes.

It’s fading a bit outside and I think we’ll try to go out for a while. Sunshine is the best thing to destroy odors, they say.

That is weird. And you can't characterize the stench? It's not a septic tank gone awry or an underground heating oil tank that leaked? Both can smell awful but are sorta distinctive in their own ways.
