I like Early and Lady. This time, I got some Stash Chai and I’m trying Harney & Sons India black. Darjeeling is another good one, and you’d think it would be easy to find, but since the Kuerig plague started, coffee/tea aisles have been taken over by those horrible little cups. Tea is an endangered species at the B&Ms. The loose leaf is entirely gone, and even the bagged stuff, there’s not half as much as there used to be.
That Stash chai is great on a chilly evening. I keep both reg & decaf. Splash of bourbon is nice with it.

Good morning Shiny's!

Watching all this battery and Ω talk. I tried a new wire last night on my Gear rta. 6 wrap and came out to 0.46Ω. Running at 45w, and I like the results. Warm with lots of flavor. Pictures below show all, including the ugly wrap. What do the experts have to say? :)

Certainly not an expert, but if it’s working for it’s all good. I do love the Gears. I never even played with different builds... I put my usual in them and was happy with the vape.

That’s probably how I’ll spend my time once shiny shopping is no more, trying different wires and stuff.

I got some 24 gauge kanthal wire I could use . I’m usually using 26 gauge nichrome wire and getting it to 0.11 ohms. I might try doing a bunch of wraps to get to a higher ohm with that if I don’t like the kanthal. But it makes sense that a beefier wire would be much better with a series build
Series gives you the voltage to do some massive high resistance builds.Go for surface area. You can use claptons as well, but I would stick to triple core or less. A single core with lots of wraps would probably be real nice.

No. Lithium cells are generally marked with their nominal voltage.
Most standard lithium cells have a max charge of 4.2v and are nominally rated as 3.6/3.7v. LiFePO4 chemistry cells have a maximum charge of 3.6v and a nominal rating of 3.2/3.3v.

@jandrew, the 3.6V max charge got me thinking of LiFePO4 (lithium Iorn Phosphate) chemistry. Haven't got round to using any yet though.

Batteries in my rotation are Li Ion Samsung 20S, Samsung 30T and LG HB6. I definitely don't use all the Amps, and that's fine with me.

@Ricky Vapes, absolutely nothing wrong with LiFePO4 cells. Chemistry is supposed to be safer and the discharge curve is better, just it's finally filtering down to different cell sizes.

No doubt we'll see a lot more of them over time.

And I'm also thinking folks about what's going to happen with the Steam Crave Titan PWM mod?

Is it going to be discontinued due to the release of their Hadron mod?

I know that it's not a mech, but the ability to run four 18650 cells in either series or parallel may interest some. And if it is going to be reduced to clear, even more so.

My wife is Chinese from Shanghai and likes the Dragonwell green tea. Her family sends her fresh packages every few months. I like the green tea, but it's not the only tea I like. My favorite is herbal tea. I like the Traditional Medicinals Throat Coat. I like its smoothness and Licorice flavor. Also helps sooth the damage that 42 years worth of smoking did to my throat. Having a pot of it now on this cool and rainy Sunday.

Now we have to try Twinnings Tea. :thumb:
The entire line is lovely, you can get s sampler pack, better selections ordering online. The english breakfast is very good but I prefer the Irish. The earl gray is much better than Bigelow, not nearly as sweet and nicely balances imo.

I've been using LiFePO4 in mechs for a few months now --- 26650 Vapcell (55 amp rated), and 18650 LithiumWerks (30 amp rated). The 18650batterystore.com carries those, and they now also have the LithiumWerks 26650 (50 amp) cells. I use them in single cell mods and well below their CDR ratings (I vape in the 16-20 watt neighborhood), and get good vape time on them.

For those with a dual series 18650 mech mod, the LW-18650 cells (running 6.4v nominal in series) can be a good option and may allow for a little more sensible coil size.

I don't know much about lipo batteries so this might be a stupid question. Do you need a different charger for those batteries?
