Pick up a lot of deliveries in casinos. Finally remembered to take a picture of one of the Stinkin' Rich machines

No solo in my mail yet. I knew it wouldn’t be, when checked tracking this morning and it had left Detroit at 8 am. Oh well, it’ll be here tomorrow.

I wanted to go outside today but it’s so windy! Instead of being an adult and cleaning, I dragged out the sewing machine and made a little project bag. Came out really cute. Sometimes I just gotta sew.

I needed some pins and dug around in my mom’s notion box. Found some custom tags that said “Made especially for you by Audrey”. Gosh I miss her.

Looking on FT, the V2s are discontinued, but there are some generic V3 clones, and slightly more expensive YFTK V3 and V4 clone available (the V4 looks like a significant design departure, but is the only one with reviews). Hmmm. Any thoughts?
Yes, go for the YFTK V3 as it's in the same mold as the earlier ones... Be sure to check 3fvape for the V2 before you commit though as they may have it. If not the V3 will be fine. I have it but haven't built it yet. It's been on my desk with the other 10ish RDTA's/rda's which I haven't got around to building yet :D

If it's speed you want for PS and maybe video editing, the factors that make a big difference are obviously a competent CPU, but lots of RAM and an SSD. "Gamer" video cards are of no real benefit unless of course you're a gamer. If you do 3D renderings, then a pro level video card from the Quadro series is about your only option, and you'll need to get it as an add on yourself unless you're getting a custom PC built for you, or from an overpriced "professional" line from Dell. Also remember the bigger the PSU the better. A lot more flexibility in the future. I'm not sure if Dell gives you any option to select from on that.

Unless you're working with giant uncompressed TIFFs and 40 PS layers, you'll be fine with 16GB on the board. And a fast i7 latest generation is more than enough for even batch RAW conversions with lots of customized options. The real killers on hardware these days are 3D rendering and gaming, and require different solutions. But for PS and even Premiere and After Effects, really lots of RAM and a big, fast SSD will make your life far more tolerable.
Thanks... My PS work is photography related but I do work with huge tiffs with lots of layers. So I'm going to buy as much ram as I can afford with a casing with plenty of spare slots for upgrades in the future. I am probably going to have Dell build it for me. Although I know that most things are plug and play these days I'm still a bit scared to build my own from scratch as I've never done it before. I know what I want though.... This time I'm going to have something a bit special. I do do a bit of video to but may not stretch to anything too over the top on the video card an 8gb nvidia or something similar will do. I'm committed to a B n Q monitor and it all adds up :)

I haven’t used Dell for some time. They used to be great for build to order then changed to a few configurations a they were assembled in China in bulk. If you find a configuration you like you’re set.

I don’t know what it’s like where you are, but it is possible, at least in the US, to find boutique builders who will work with you on every single part, do a beautiful assembly with all tucked in Origami like cabling, and end up only a few hundred dollars more than the total parts if you purchased it all and assembled it yourself. I’ve gotten a few that way including a real speciality box for my daughter she needed for architecture school that needed to do crazy hard renderings. It came out with better specs and a way lower price than a “retail” box could ever have come close to. So it might be worth a phone call or two before deciding what to order.

Yiup, for your needs16 Gb RAM, big SDD, and a midrange commercial video card is fine. Don’t worry about the memory on the graphics card, PS really doesn’t use it much. But a latest Gen i7 is worth it. Until recently the improvements in CPU performance were very small with incremental releases. The more recent ones are worth it.

Levi’s 4th Gotchya anniversary would’ve been today. Less than 4 years. I feel so cheated and heartbroken.

Hugs, sweet girl. Truth is, they could live to be 100, and it still wouldn’t be long enough with our fur babies. There’s a heart filling joy and peace only they can bring

I’ve been a seller and a buyer for 20 years. The buyer has always been more protected than the seller.

You just have to play by the rules. Most B&M retailers have a 30 day return policy as eBay does.

You have to submit in that time frame.

I ordered and did not receive a pico last year. I contacted the seller with no reply twice, then I contacted support, and had to wait so many days before I could file a claim. Then it took a few days, but they refunded me 100%.

As a seller I quickly learned to ship everything insured with tracking. It’s the only way not to get scammed by people saying they never got something. I’m sure some of them were telling the truth, but there sure are a lot of them who aren’t. ( How do I know? Because the item that supposedly did not arrive turned up for sale two week’s later! It had a serial number so I knew it was one of my auctions)

After that I sent them the tracking number, and they could hassle the post office for their money.

Oh yea I’ve heard many people swear by it but I was out 200 bucks and never got it back soooo I am not gonna use eBay again. I just thought it was so stupid how I couldn’t even give a rating after not hearing back from the seller. All because it was past the time limit where I was allowed to rate the seller. Also the seller had good reviews it showed when I bought it but then I realized he only ever sold 1 or 2 items which is why it showed 100 percent.

i waited hoping it would come for over a month then I finally look into it and am told I couldn’t do anything about it because it’s been over a month since I paid for it. I didn’t know that when I bought the item. This was years ago now so I chalked it up as a loss a long time ago.

@charlie1465, building PC's isn't that bad in real life. Everything just slots together.

    Picking parts is more daunting.

But one big tip I can give you, is with image and video editing you'll need a good processor as well as a decent amount of RAM. AMD Ryzen Threadripper range of CPU's may be of interest.

And don't forget that you can use TV's as a Display with PC's nowadays, as HDMI out has become standard. It's quite good good experience with wireless peripherals and a 50 inch panel.

Ordered a new espresso machine - which completely blew my shiny budget for the week. But mine is leaking and stopped steaming milk. It survived 4 years of my caffeine habit, so it well and truly earned its retirement :thumb:

    There's 2 things I won't live without - strong flat whites, and vaping ;)
