Oh yea awesome hope you keep having fun . Yea the mainland especially has been hit hard such as Hastings street where the drugs are and overdoses are so common. So sad it’s mainly from drug addiction, there’s a lot of misery around there but also a beautiful town.

Downtown Victoria is bad with over doses and homeless people but I think the mainland is worse. Surrey is a pretty violent place now with shootings and Asian gangs running the drug trade and fighting rival gangs. So many careless gunfights causing innocents to be hit with stray bullets.
Most of this is due to the war on drugs and I wonder if the government will ever realize this system is broken...

Thanks for the information Mabye I’ll give it a shot. I’m happy with the way my tank stand worked out though happy to have a spot for them.
Vancouver is a beautiful city with so much to offer. We took the ferry over to the Maritime and Vancouver history museums. Lots of big live-on sailboats moored, with the freighters in the shipping channel off in the distance, mountains as the backdrop. The only really sketchy area was just outside Gastown/ Chinatown on (I think) Hastings St? Here in downtown and the couple of miles we walked to get over to Granville are fine. It’s cool that it’s such a dog friendly place. A little too metropolitan for me, but fun to visit.

My bunny friend at work I’ve been feeding for a while and who waits by my truck at lunch time for me to give him food has turned out to be a girl !

Gonna have to change the name from Steve to something else. Maybe Goldie or sassy.

She has a baby bunny now that looks just like her! So cute:) same golden fur and they both love carrots and apples. They were popping up all the time and looking at me for more food. That brought some joy to my life to see the baby bunny
Or Stevie (worked for Fleetwood Mac ;))

Yes those are beautiful pictures of the hell I am trying so hard to get away from.

There is this cactus that grows wild only seen it in Tucson but if you were running from Freddie Kruger, well, you would take your chances with Freddie.

Also it grows in these weird rectangle/square sort of SHOOTLETS of death that are not normally found in nature. I couldn't find pics on line, I tried. It is truly bizarre.

Everyone likes the desert... for a while. Lemme tell you though you should definitely take a year's "job" or "vacation" or whatever before a move and decide if it is REALLY for you.

To be fair, Tucson is like known as "worst city in Arizona." I may not be being fair but I don't like venomous things ANYWHERE.

Ooh trying not to think about the scorpion the husband squished. I hope he wasn't lying to comfort me. It could easily have been something worse. Like a tiny venomous goat.

I got blueberry muffins and I only did it after some consideration and reading of reviews but the fun part was experimenting for very little money. I like real flavors usually. So I got some oddballs.

That Freemax Odan doesn't look too bad for a disposable unit, I'll be looking forward to that review:D
Don't hurry though, I don't need any more influence to buy anything else just yeto_O

Oh, good, the YFTK is the one I bought.
Generally speaking it is often YFTK who make the better one.... But not always. It's a good idea to look at the reviews too and generally you'll end up making the right decision. Thats one of the reasons I miss Muppet.... He knew a lot about the RDTA's. Ive had no response to my pm yet by the way :)

We never used a moving company. Always did it ourselves until we bought the house in 1990. We just rented a truck and thankfully friends/family helped. Now, hahaha, if I were ever to sell and move I too would hire a moving company for certain. But I'm not planning on a move.

Well wait a sec, unless we all come up with an agreeable "vaping" location that we went on about however many 10,000's of posts ago. ;)

I still love living in Wisconsin. Sure there are climates I like that are warmer but I would miss the seasonal changes.

Are you thinking of moving to a warmer climate or still in the trying to figure it all out?

My family and friends are all too old to be moving heavy furniture. Heck, even our kids are getting a bit old for that.

I used to dream of going somewhere warm, near a beach preferably. But now I think, just somewhere the people are decent and like to read. Somewhere with a cool old bookshop.

I need a travel buddy so I can go find such a place.

    Good late morning shinies

Still in the rehydration phase so haven't had any of the good stuff yet :)

Feeling positive and pretty good which to be fair I always do as the chemo starts. My dear wife is bringing me a pastrami sandwich later in place of my supper. Why is hospital food everywhere horrible :D

Oops forgot to report that my Dot aio is on its way to Heathrow so I may get it by the end of this week..... Whoopee :)

Yes definitely a not to be rushed into desicion and one that you probably need a referral for. It would be terrible to make a big mistake.

People that are nice and relaxed and do similar things when the age of adventure has passed..... Sounds good.

Mind you I'd move to another country again if the opportunity arose but then again I love the Cote d'Azur a lot.

    Good luck :)

Good morning Delores. We have a ton of used bookstores here. It's absolutely wonderful. I am a retired Naval photographer from the North East, and have been all over the US and the world, and have been here for 19 years now. This is by far the best place I have ever lived, and cannot imagine ever moving from this area. The winter is much shorter and less cold, but we still have the 4 seasons with a beautiful colorful fall. If you like gardening, either for veggies or floral, this area is perfect. The coast is just a couple hours east, and the mountains are just a few hours west. Our favorite get away are the mountains which are just absolutely beautiful. The park and rec system here is just phenomenal, and the whole area is very family and dog friendly, with walking trails and green ways interconnecting through the whole area. In fact, we have several parks that are dedicated just to our furry family members. We have 3 major universities....Duke, NC State, and UNC. We also have some of the best vape shops I could ever want to patronize. Two of them (The Vape Escape and Good Guy Vapes) I frequent on a semi daily basis, just for the community atmosphere they provide. The people that work at both those shops are friendly and very knowledgeable, and the regulars there, I have made good friends with. The medical community is one of the best I have ever seen, with the choices of providers endless for both us and our pets. The housing market here is also phenomenal, with a ton of choices and price points. I and the wife are Real Estate professionals and could easily find a home for you and the pups in this lovely area. The normal commission rate here is 2.4%, but I only charge my friends 1%. I'd be happy to have all the wonderful people from ECF living close to me. We could have some of the best get togethers ever, with some of the best people I have ever come to know, just in the past year I have been coming to this great forum. Well, my sales pitch is done, but I think you would really love this area for what it has to offer. If you do decide to move, I would highly recommend this area for your consideration. :)

PS. Forgot to mention, we are listed as one of the top 5 places in the US to live, and top 3 places for the lowest crime rate.

I'm just glad you enjoyed your vacation. I'd like to see your neck of the woods someday.
Thank you :) come up anytime. Beautiful area in its own way. Lot of lakes (~3000 in double the area of Death Valley).

Awesome pictures! I love Death Valley. I haven't been out there in a couple years. Great time of year to go too. There is a stargazing event there in Feb. I am planning to take my son. He is really into space.
DV is a special place, this was my second trip and there will be a third and fourth. I thought the stars are good where I live (closest metropolitan light pollution is a 2-hour drive) but the stars in DV put them to shame. I've never seen the milky way with such clarity, may as well have been touchable. Enjoy the event! Wish I could get away in winter (for so many reasons).
